  1. better? Psh. I love SupCom. (granted, there's not been a computer built yet that can handle FA on max graphics and 10000 unit cap, but hey)
  2. OK, seems like an awesome topic to discuss. I love to play real time strategy games. They are amazing. Everybody knows the standard RTS economy system, kindly provided by StarCraft. You collect X amount of resorces from a pile of X resources, and units cost Y amount, instantly, to make. My favourite game mechanic is a different type of economy for RTS games. Supreme Commander, and its expansion Forged Alliance, had a better system. There were limited resource collection points, but once you had collectors there, they would collect something like 1 mass per second. You could of course upgrade this, but it never ran out. Building units and structures, of course, cost mass. But here's how it worked. It didn't take all your mass away when it started building; it instead spread out the mass cost over the period of time it took to construct. Same applies with its other resource, enrgy. The point being, its economy was about rates, not quantities. As long as you were taking in more than you were putting out, you were fine. (also, artillery took mass to fire, shields and radar took energy to use, etc) After a streaming economy, all the other RTS games seem, well, lacking. Go ahead, try it for yourself. (Supreme Commander 2 ditched this in favour of a StarCraft economy)
  3. Well, keep in mind, EE3 is in very early development. That being said, yes. Covalence dusts will form a large part of the mod. No, you'll not be repairing tools with them, most likely. Gem tools and covalence dust, (yes I know, they were my favourites too) are both slightly OP, which is fine. But mix them together, and you get something very OP. So, my guess is that covalence dusts are not going to repair your tools.
  4. Granted, but it eats your soul. I wish The_DarthMoogle's edit history was viewable so people could know I ninja'd him so hard.
  5. Granted, but it's inaccessible to human beings. I wish for possession of a delicious, non-poisoned, un-infected, ham sandwich, consisting of 2 slices of whole wheat bread with cooked ham in between them.
  6. I resent that. I don't think I'm being anything like weird beard dude.
  7. Yeah, but stopping the rage isn't what's best for the community. What's best for the community is raising a bit of outrage so either a.) the Optifine people abandon their money-grubbing ways, or b.) people come up with an alternative that isn't encumbered by such things. (likely open source)
  8. theprolo: come on. First, the ultra edition now has all the features, which you can turn on and off at will. So it wasn't about support. Would you like to know my theory? Starts with "mo" and ends with "ney". Honestly. Their main download is adf.ly, which is ok, I guess. But their mirror download, instead of adfly, goes to their own custom "Wait for the download while we show you ads" page, which isn't even a separate download location. In other words, it's all about the money.
  9. Well, for starters, I'd get a name and a logo for the pack, get permissions and stuff, and then talk to the Technic team about it. I'd build the pack as a TechnicLauncher custom zip first, host it somewhere, and then message IceWolf or one of the other admins asking about your pack. :)
  10. Wow. You really had to take the time to insult open source, eh? wow. Alrighty then.
  11. Prerelease 1.5 of Convenient Crafting System, out now! (Sadly, template tables are not included, as it's merely a 1.4.6 port of pre1) Grab it here! https://docs.google.com/file/d/0Bwob3EQvVt4URUdwaTJCVUZVaEE/edit Screenies will be added to the OP shortly! edit: My first working public release! damn, this forum has a lot of smilies. :P
  12. I'm not sure, that entirely depends on the mod. I think the ones in the main modpack directory are launcher-generated, so I'd not mess with those.
  13. Umm, quantum is the best. Honestly, you just need to master switching chestpieces quickly.
  14. It means no optifine in public custom zips. If you want to use optifine in a private server pack, you're more than welcome to do so.
  15. You do! When you add bin/minecraft.jar in your custom zip, that's the minecraft jar that will be used! 1.4.6, Beta 1.4, it's all up to you! :D
  16. Granted, but there are no more living things. You have made a perfect zombie apocalypse. (also, you did 3 wishes, which is cheating) I wish this wish was incorruptible.
  17. Granted, but it only reflects people's personalities. I wish for more wishes.
  18. Granted, but you die of cardiac arrest before you can finish it. I wish for my own planet, fully habitable and with a pre-established base of operations there, comparable to the International Space Station. Oh, and a metric craptonne of beef.
  19. he's talking about having multiple mods in the same MCP folder. BTW, in the future, any modding-related topics should probably be in the "Modders Metropolis" section. :)
  20. Yeah, we're getting more and more popular, leading to our Dropbox links getting disabled for traffic overages more and more often. We'll have to upgrade our plan at some point, when we have the cash.
  21. Well, as long as they're in two separate Java packages, I don't see why not. Seems fairly possible, although it'll be a pain to manage for you.
  22. Of course, good sir. I may even consider some sort of upgrade system for the books themselves, allowing them to store more.
  23. Well, no. That's not how it will really work, the idea is to have those 20 or so templates in a "template book" which you can, of course, replace with a fresh one.
