I... I have no clue... what the hell.

KK. The launcher being open source as it is, would you accept pull requests from lil' old me to add this?
-
I don't hate on FTB, and I'm sure most other Technic users feel that way too. They sure hate on us, but we don't mind. I like the crafting system, it's different than the usual LP/BC setups. :)
-
So, I am looking through it, and it seems to be pretty obvious how it works. Is there a way for my custom pack to override its logo in the launcher?
-
Ever felt that urge to just punch someone in the face?

Wow, you've successfully necro'd my thread. Congrats. *slow, sarcastic clap* -
Mooseman: use the 1.4.2 branch's Railcraft textures
-
No problem, man!

Basically, anything made in the past year should be fine. You'll want at least a dual core processor, quad if you can get it. You want at least 4GB of RAM, preferably 6 or more. At least 500GB hard drive. Windows 7. (Windows 8 is fine if you can stand Metro the interface formerly known as Metro) ATI or Nvidia graphics, either works, but you want at least 1GB video RAM, preferably 2. Monitors? 1440x900 LCD should suit your needs. For all your computer shopping needs: www.microcenter.com They're really friendly people who would love nothing more than to sell you the computer you need. :)

First, you necro'd a thread from 3 months ago. This is generally considered bad. Second, delete .techniclauncher (after backing up your saves) and redownload.

In large part because of the Reapers! Yay, stupid (EA boardroom style) logic!
-
Indeed. That would be awesome, although, we already know the Reapers won. So, bit of a letdown.
-
Yeah, but that assumes you picked the "War Hero" background for your Shepard. I always did, but either way, they have to make assumptions. They have a fairly well encapsulated canon. The options, as I see them, are: 1. MMO: Mass Effect Online. (please no) 2. Use a different character entirely for a prequel, or even explore someone else's story through the timeline already established. (What happens while Shepard is dead between ME1 and ME2? Or during his/her house arrest between ME2 and ME3?) Heck, I'd love to see Anderson's story. 3. Quit while they're ahead and make a new IP. (However, EA's not known for being innovative) 4. Create ME4 on the premise of the indoctrination theory. Not going to happen, most likely, but it is a valid path for Bioware to go down. 5. Create a strategy game played from the perspective of Cerberus or the geth, where you control waves of enemies and try to overcome Shepard and his party. (Pretty cool idea if I do say so myself) EDIT: Hushful's Prothean idea is awesome. Or even, the civilisation before them.
-
Yeah man, it's what we at JSTR did. We downloaded Faithful, and just edited our textures on top.
-
"Artistic choice" my ass. The ending feels like it was written separately, by people with little to no knowledge of the ME plot in general, (like, I don't know, EA) and tacked on later.

Any ideas for things to build when next RedPower2 comes out?
LazDude2012 replied to TempestChair's topic in Cafe Lame
LogicChip10: It actually doesn't have to work much harder. Statistically, it'll actually improve performance on multi-core machines, (so any computer built after 2009), as the client and server can run on different cores. EDIT: Damn it, double post. I wish there were a delete post button so I could ninja this into 1 post. -
Yeah. But, I'm going to ignore that when talking about the game as a whole, because without the ending, it's great. Hopefully, some genius will come up with a "Mass Effect 3: Ending that Doesn't Suck" mod.

aceclown: Ender Chests and Retrievers. 'Nuff said. -
I want a "Screw EA now and forever" option. And BTW, the first two were awesome, and the third was mostly awesome.

I can guess you and I will be sharing an avatar very soon, lefturn50.

The modders haven't posted on the forums giving their permissions, and Technic, in all fairness, may not have all of them. But they do have most. Here's the thing. It's not stealing, no matter how you put it. They're actually taking a huge load of bandwidth off the mod authors and paying for it out of their own pockets. They lose metric craptonnes of money on it, I'm sure. They're taking what the modders give out for free, and wrapping it up in a shinier package and giving it out for free. Nothing's being stolen, nobody's being harmed. In fact, I'd say the community is (in general) benefited by Technic. But that's just how I see it. RichardG and others have an exact opposite view, but that's what happens with people. :/

holy crap, learn to spell. Heck, if you're using any web browser not developed by monkeys, (so not Internet Explorer) there should be a spell checker. Use that. But yeah, that's it.
-
Depends. How many players do you want? Are you playing on the server, from the same machine?
-
English man, English! Basically, you don't have enough RAM on your machine. Upgrade your machine or get someone else to host your server.
-
Indeed. And day one DLC? Charging for what, in any other game, would have been free patches? EA's asshattery shines through. Also, the ending pisses me off, but some people might like it. I'm fine with Shepard dying, but the whole plot being thrown away and replaced by "Pick your colour"? Sometimes, I wish there would be a nice, big accident over in EA-town.
-
Well, first, remember. The 1.2.5 branch is deprecated. In English, that means we're no longer updating it, as we're focussing on the 1.4.2+ branch. Secondly, EE won't even have these things on release. Thirdly, I've done the Nano Armour and am stuck for ideas on the quantum.
