I could try, but I gave up on that launcher a long time ago. Here's the thing, vernes. The people that hate Technic mostly don't hate because of the big permissions drama, although that makes a convenient excuse. They hate Technic because Technic makes it easy for anyone to play with mods. Even people for whom the words "drag into your .minecraft folder" are forbidden magic. Technic (and FTB when it's out) make modded Minecraft accessible, and they don't like that. They want to keep it as an elite little club, that only they can use.

I was actually coding such a launcher; the only problem is the fact that to say that everything's *not* being distributed by Technic, the launcher would have to download it from the modders' adfly links. And I never found a way to do that programmatically. Same with mediafire and other hosts.

Understandable; nothing starts more flamewars than politics. I think the real problem is that both sides, Reps and Dems alike, are both in the pockets of big coprorations.

You don't really want to suggest that. Most mods are now compiling, as is Forge itself, for Java 7. You will get strange bugs and errors in Java 6 and earlier.

And even then, it manages to run great games, well! I don't know how they did it, possibly with some form of space magic, but hey. I'm not complaining, for sure! :P

The folder isn't there? Or that file isn't there? In either case, go into Techniclauncher's options, and clear cache.

First, there's an edit button for a reason. Second, post an error log. Post a log of *any* sort.

Tekkit's error log is what you want, not the launcher's. The launcher did its job: launched Tekkit. The error log you want is located here: %APPDATA%\.techniclauncher\tekkit\ForgeModLoader-0.log

Downgrade to Windows 7? That might help. Plus, TIKFAM (The Interface Formerly Known As Metro) is utter garbage when used on anything but a touch screen.

In Windows, make a batch file with this text: @echo off set APPDATA=<INSERT WHERE YOU WANT .TECHNICLAUNCHER HERE> java -jar Technic.jar (that's what I've renamed my Technic launcher jar to)

You'll probably want a dual-core processor. Or just take what you've got, yeah.

you need java 7. Google it. Also, read the stickies. They are there for your benefit.

So, education and occupations, eh? I recently learned that in my state, one can get a full time job at 16, and am currently applying for one as a computer programmer. I'm actually fairly likely to get it, too! :D
