  1. It seemed that way at first, but most of the crashes turned out to be due to ExtraBiomesXL not getting along with RedPower. FL seems to be getting on alright as far as I could tell before I turned it off.
  2. Number of listed games that are good: 3 Number of listed games that are better on PC: 3
  3. You linked to a video of someone showing off a colored lighting mod. Your request is for a colored lighting mod. What am I missing here?
  4. Same thing happens if you compile with 7 instead of 6 mode unfortunately. Still works though, even baseclass alterations.
  5. Oh, derp. Yeah. That too. >_>
  6. TB talked about that, and while I agree with what I said, I wouldn't expect them to ever change the name. They're not marketing it as a full game: They're doing it specifically as a fanservice thing, and non-fans who buy it will be welcomed but not expected. As it is, the name is descriptive.
  7. Ah, inside jokes: The truest way to know a forum veteran from a mere visitor.
  8. ...........right. Let's not, but say we did, so we can all be happy.
  9. 1) Interesting idea. You could remove blocks and turn them into falling entities like TNT does when lit, and then turn them back into blocks when they reach another block below them. Audiomod should in theory support the custom sounds. 2) The EE author(s) get pissy when you touch their stuff, but you can add/remove things from the EMC table internally via Reflection. 3) How have you missed the thread about Finite Liquid where it works with the mod pack? (7.0.1, not 6.0.7.) The FL mod is rather laggy, though, because it doesn't use proper dirty-flagging. I know how it can be re-written to be less laggy, but it would require basically re-writing the whole mod. 4) Merged architecture in 1.3 will make stuff like mcmmo work fine in singleplayer.
  10. Norton 360 is a good AV if you are intelligent enough to configure it properly.
  11. Yogventures is only very loosely inspired by Minecraft, and not only has a completely different aesthetic and mechanic, it's also less approachable by people who think of Minecraft as more of an electronic Lego set v. a general building game, and (most importantly, from our point of view) will not be as easily moddable (not being in Java; no matter how good an API can get, Java makes it easier because of replaceability and Reflection) and will not have the massive body of both mods and modders that Minecraft already has. Yogventures is a game in its own right, not a Minecraft-killer.
  12. Like Kaker said, Mojang has completely lost touch with their playerbase (if the ever were in-touch to begin with) and have no idea what they actually want to do with their game. Let's all just come together as a community and hope they don't fuck it up beyond our desire to patch or work around, as time goes on.
  13. I like repetition if it's done well. I remember when I was around 12-ish years old, I had a Rainbow Brite paint program on my Commodore 64. I used to use the spray-paint tool to make a screen filled with random black dots, and then I would go in with the pencil tool and individually click the rest of the pixels to black. Yes, really.
  14. Yes, if you can free up enough IDs. None of the blocks can be disabled without altering the mod's code.
  15. Touché. I'm more worried about the statement made by the mod author that having this feature in the game is making him rethink the way he's done his mod. Being able to color the top of the chests is really pretty and neat, no matter what functionality it's attached to, and I hope we don't lose that. Ender chests actually make a neat floor decoration.
  16. No, some vanilla water still exists in the world, primarily in the form of those little one-block cave runnels. Also, finite-liquid blocks use metadata in a specific way, and vanilla or mod worldgen using water or lava would break miserably if it didn't have access to vanilla fluids.
  17. I can change the colors to anything, but I didn't find anything that was distinct enough that still looked like the thing it was supposed to be. Show me something that's the color you mean, or give the hex value or something, and I can set it to that.
  18. Never stop tilting at windmills: Dreams happen eventually.
  19. Just what do people expect me to do about diamond and nikolite? Vanilla 16x they're even harder to differentiate. I can't exactly write their names in dust on them.
  20. No it fucking well wouldn't. Let me demonstrate (as Kaker already did, I seem to recall) what it would look like to give you what you want: 5/13: Sparklefarts not ready yet. 5/14: Sparklefarts not ready yet. 5/15: Sparklefarts not ready yet. 5/16: Sparklefarts not ready yet. ... I trust that makes the point very clear.
  21. Minecraft does not allow multiple things to be in one block. It just physically is not possible without rewriting the entirety (and I do mean the entirety) of Minecraft. Redpower and the Little Blocks mod get away with it by using custom renderers: They store the data of what's in a block (such as covers on tubes and frames, or all the blocks inside the little block), and draw/manipulate them separately. That's why microblock covers don't work on non-Redpower blocks, and it's why the Little Blocks mod doesn't work well with non-vanilla blocks. This limitation in minecraft is why you can't have a pressure plate right next to a door, for instance, and why you can't have water flowing through grass instead of destroying it, or a torch or fence sticking in snow. There just isn't any way around it.
  22. Are you unable to enjoy a really good hamburger, or lasagna, or turkey club, or chocolate ice cream, or any "standard" food, simply because that food has existed for so long, and everybody simply keeps tweaking it a little bit here and there, but otherwise, it's the same thing?
  23. Who with the what now? What blocks do they eat? Do they remove the blocks entirely?
  24. That's more of a thing like this: "If, out of the last 40 times X occurred, it was demonstrated to be because of Y 35 of those times, are you really going to see an X and not see a Y?"
