Because everything was transferred at some point to the new launcher, as well as the whole Minecraft to Mojang account thing that happened at some point. Which was your favourite build?
-
Anyhow, the old launcher is sorta existing, but it no longer works. The authentication is broken, which causes the launcher to not work anymore.
-
Provide a log (use pastebin, or add the log if its small enough)?

Technic SSP is downloadable on the regular launcher? https://www.technicpack.net/modpack/technic-ssp.1777938/about

Once Mojang/Microsoft posts something that explains "HOW" to do that, yeah, then it'll be implemented. Hopefully. Wouldn't be the first time its going to be a long process with Mojang/Microsoft not giving enough info...

Use Java 8, not Java 15.
-
You don't use the installer. That's only for 2854 (2851 or 1.13+). For 1.7.10, you download the universal forge, which you rename. Your new link can't be opened, btw.
-
You made the exact same mistake as what I posted in my last comment on there. Also, your mods folder is empty?
-
-
Oh, looks like I missed that. Here's the wget command. wget --header "Cookie: oraclelicense=accept-securebackup-cookie" https://download.oracle.com/otn/java/jdk/8u251-b08/3d5a2bb8f8d4428bbe94aed7ec7ae784/jdk-8u251-linux-x64.tar.gz

That's 3 seperate zips. 1 zip file, when you open it you find bin/config/mods.
-
Same issue, different java version, same fix.
-
I looked at it, you are doing two things wrong: You renamed it to modpack.jar with extensions hidden. That makes it that its now actually modpack.jar.jar. That's wrong, just name it "modpack" in your case. Zip the bin/config/mods folders directly. Don't zip the folder those 3 are in. You no longer have to include the coremods folder.

Open the launcher, press yes on the popup. Go to Launcher options -> Java Settings. Choose 8u251 from the list. -
Modpack successfully downloads but loads the game with no mods

Forge update 2854 changed things. You need the Forge Installer renamed as modpack instead of Universal. Download and rename the Installer, DO NOT run/install/extract the installer. -

Have you like checked this subforum? It's filled to the brim with the EXACT issue you have, with the EXACT same answer every time. And no, its not that BLOODY version.json not found. The day I can get someone to make that line white instead of yellow will be a great day. -

You'll have to actually remove java 14 and 8u271, and use 8u251 instead. Link to 8u251: https://javadl.oracle.com/webapps/download/GetFile/1.8.0_251-b08/3d5a2bb8f8d4428bbe94aed7ec7ae784/unix-i586/jdk-8u251-macosx-x64.dmg How to remove java 14: Yes, I'm aware these instructions do not look visually pleasing, but they have been copied from the Technic Discord server. -
Use this java instead. https://javadl.oracle.com/webapps/download/GetFile/1.8.0_251-b08/3d5a2bb8f8d4428bbe94aed7ec7ae784/unix-i586/jdk-8u251-macosx-x64.dmg
