You don't get it. We don't want everyone and their mom on here, we don't want a barrage of :notch::diamond::creeper:, we don't want endless pages of 'CAN YOU PLEASE UPDATE FOR ____?' and forums chock full of people screaming 'HELP ME' without providing any information what-so-ever. Noise man, we don't want, nor do we need, noise. We need discussion and people talking to one another. It's strict, and its harsh, but it is the only way to deal with it. This isn't a fuzzy place where people can expect to be coddled at every level, where rules are suggestions rather than rules. Nobody wants this place to become like every.single.other.forum. on the internet. Go hang out on another board if you want an 'everybody is a winner!' attitude, that shit is toxic to communities. I'd personally rather have a much smaller, more intelligent, calm community. One with a sense of humor too if I can help it. Is it done yet? Hey can you update for 1.2.4? I love that people are playing these mods, I love the fact that the launcher allows people to get to the meat of modded Minecraft instead of slogging through forums and .jar files. Its what i have always wanted. However, you make a mistake and you don't seem to be listening. We don't know when any new version is going to be out. We don't. We can speculate sure, but then people get a target and they fixate on it. They watch it, then when they have decided that its been long enough they get upset and claim you 'promised!' Why are we even going to take that burden on? So we too can have page after page of 'WHEN IS IT GOING TO BE DONE?' Server operators almost never ask for an update. You know why? They tend to know what it takes to run a community, and they usually also have an idea on the work involved, and how it is out of our hands. We aren't in the business of making promises we can't keep, and giving an ETA is doing that. You want an answer? It will be done when its done. Modder A might drop out from the scene. Modder B might update before C, Minecraft might update before a critical mod gets done cutting releasing a version that works with a no depreciated Minecraft version. Or, instead, you can accept that when it will be out when it is done, and simply enjoy the game otherwise. Status updates would be Day 6: Sparkle Farts by DongLord69 isn't updated yet. Waiting on DongLord69 Day 7: Sparkle Farts by DongLord69 isn't updated yet. Waiting on DongLord69 Day 8: Sparkle Farts by DongLord69 isn't updated yet. Waiting on DongLord69 Day 9: Sparkle Farts by DongLord69 isn't updated yet. Waiting on DongLord69 Day 10: Minecraft updated, DongLord69 isn't updating to 1.2.3, but instead moving to 1.2.5 Day 11: Every modder doesn't have their mods out yet. Waiting on all the modders. EVEN beyond that, now we are singling out specific modders. So now, you get people that will now go bother THAT modder, along with the thousands of people already asking for a release, and now Technic can be blamed for pointing an angry mob toward the modders. That makes a lot of sense! I'm sorry you don't know what its like running a very large community. I'm not exactly sure what speculation there is beyond "Now? How about now? Maybe later? Yeah? Now? No wait tomorrow!" There is no concerns to be addressed! There is no dire need to get Technic/Tekkit/YogBox/VoxelModPack updated to the latest Minecraft, nothing is being lost. You still have the same game that you may have been enjoying already. There are some features that are going to be great (map height especially) but you've been just fine before. If the mods aren't done there isn't anything else we can do about it, so we all, collectively, have to wait. Sorry you are disenchanted with Technic/Tekkit/how we 'do' things around here. At least you don't have to take part in the discussion of things if you don't want, the Launcher is still there for you to play, outside of the community. So basically, patience. Have some patience, but then somehow that's our fault.

It has already been explained by people on why there is no release date. There is also no progress to report besides "We're still alive and working!" is all you are going to get. HalibutBarn said it better than I could have, there is no point to tell you guys when an update is coming. It is, just, you know, later. Nobody wants an ETA, they want the next version. They think that if they have an ETA that they can plan around it I guess? An ETA is worthless and impossible. The only time we can guarantee a release is when we are actually releasing it (Probably broke as fuck too). EVEN WITH all that, I don't think you'll get it, so what do I know. I can say this though: If you think this place is harsh or mean, then perhaps this isn't the place for you?

We don't use craftbukkit because in its quest for performance it breaks too many things in Tekkit. Things like machines running, items flowing in pipes, that sort of thing. We decided that the performance increases, if there are any, aren't worth it. Performance is nice but if you have to stand on top of your machines to keep them working it isn't worth it.
