  2. Certainly looks like THE Buildcraft error talked about in the current bugs list: http://forums.technicpack.net/index.php/topic,35.0.html
  3. Re: Music and Minecraft I prefer a chill experience when playing Minecraft with music, Aphex Twin - Xtal. Sometimes I'll just listen to the whole shot of Steve Reich - Music for 18 Musicians, it isn't for everyone of course but I absolutely adore it.

  5. Yeah well we don't want to do extra work just because you don't have a premium account. Ah yeah I see through your ruse! Nobody doesn't want to connect to minecraft.net, you see, because its completely painless. What would have been a better excuse would have been "I don't want to put my Minecraft account information into a third-party program" because at least that has some merit. Of course, I would have just said "Its open source you dumb idiot!!!!!!!!!!" but I would have used more spittle and exclamation points. You understand right? Right.

  7. Hi MrDestrox. Unfortunately this is not a debatable issue. 1. This is how it has to be done for the launcher to function. We are not going to give out Minecraft files themselves as this is against Mojang's TOS and is simply piracy. The reason you need a premium account is to get the Minecraft files from Mojang themselves. This is what allows the launcher to separate itself from the standard Minecraft install, this is what allows you to simply press a button and play. We aren't going to lock forum registration in some sort of weird attempt to try to hide the fact that we are giving out Minecraft installs, nor does requiring premium have anything to do with people being jerks or some sort of ulterior motive. It is simply because it is the only way to have the launcher function like it does. 2. We are in no way going to go out of our way to help people that don't have an actual Minecraft account. The old way we would give out Technic worked, but the new way is completely different and much (much much) easier to maintain. We'd have to abandon the launcher and go back to the old style installer, and with that lost up-to-date updates, config changes, and make it a lot more work for us. So, to recap: The launcher makes it very easy for us to "do" the Technic pack. Its quick, easy and painless for us to push updates, to change configs, to standardize, to do a lot of things that, before the the launcher, were impossible. We are quite lazy, so we aren't going to try to maintain two separate mod packages just to placate people that didn't even buy Minecraft in the first place. We are also not going to give up the launcher for the same "we are lazy" reasons.
  8. You didn't download Tekkit 2, you downloaded Technic 6. http://forums.technicpack.net/index.php/topic,3.0.html EDIT If you did install Tekkit 2 then it isn't recommended you play with it. Official tekkit version is 1.1.4, not 2.0. You won't be able to connect to a server with Tekkit 2, and you shouldn't be playing single player in it because that is what Technic is for.
  9. We are no cruising on a fancy-pants new VPS so these problems should never appear ever again.
  10. But you better put some effort into your next post or its curtains for you ciarian!!!!!!!

And now you come back here, spit in our faces with an amazingly well thought-out post exposing us for the sham that we are, clearly so we could get more credits releasing for everyone :/ u dont love us and that makes me sad :( :(
  13. Posting the same thread in multiple boards is a BAD THING. Don't do it.

  15. Tekkit 2.0 isn't feature complete, and isn't meant for for play right now. It is going to be full of bugs galore!

  17. WOAH I AM MAD. MAD ABOUT CHANGE LOGS. No really, we'll try to get change logs going here in the future, as it is really handy. We also hate it when people don't bother with them and we should at least practice improving ourselves that much. No promises, but once we get settled with the chaos of the launcher we'll try our best to get a change log going.

  23. It is the answer though. I shall explain why the installer is a better option for you because you don't "get" it. The installer is simple and worked (most of the time) because it is what we had. With that we had month-long waits between Technic/Tekkit packs with mods going out of date. The only way to update those was to build new installers and deliver everything all at once. Now, we have something that does the same thing but now get to push updates out as they happen, on the fly. Now people can take part in testing the latest versions if they so choose as well. Now we have a Technic/Tekkit that is constantly updated and people don't have to wait for updated mods. Technic will never be out-dated again. Beyond that, we can also downgrade Minecraft on the fly as well, meaning that if Minecraft gets updated, someone using the Launcher won't accidentally update their minecraft as well. Both of these work but only one of them is far easier to maintain. Updates, conflicts, standardization, these are good things that help us keep pace with minecraft modding, and keep the players in-line as well with little effort on their part.
