  1. Remove IC2? That seems kinda drastic. Although it's made redundant by other mods, it's still one of the best choices early-game and is still quite interesting. It gives a lot of alternative ways to get a lot of items. Think of stuff like Snowballs, Ice, etc. It could do with a massive overhaul, though. Something akin to IC³ being made.
  2. Profit off what? The ads are purely there to help pay for the running costs. Think of domain name, webhosting space, all that stuff.
  3. The problem is in Hamachi being very unreliable and will sometimes simply not work. Make sure both ends have their firewalls shut off completely, not just your friend.
  4. You definitely implied it. And your grammar makes it hard to know exactly what you're saying. And I always played with EE2 disabled, and guess what? I hate GregTech and I hate the author.
  5. Install OptiFine and you might get better FPS. Then again, your PC is simply inadequate.
  6. Blue dots in Hamachi are what annoyed me the most about it. Basically, it can't establish a direct connection and relays the connection through someone else. I suggest killing off all Firewall and Antivirus software (Not uninstall, just make sure it's not running. Not inactive, but completely killed.) and power off/on.
  7. In your case, I really hope you're not trying to host and play on the same server. XP would probably be your best bet as client.
  8. Sure, because god forbid a mod is intuitive, right? GT isn't "hard", it's "tedious".
  9. I think either WorldGuard or one of the plugins bundled with PermissionsEX can do that.
  10. Microblocks work differently from other blocks because different events are passed when Microblocks are placed. I suggest you either disable microblocks, or disable not only placing, but also using microblocks in protected areas. There's plugins to prevent using certain items in protected areas, should work for Microblocks too.
  11. I'm actually curious: Does GregTech even have any good ideas? I could never get far enough into it without quitting out of boredom or frustration.
  12. Even worse, some things take ages to finish, but you can't just leave and go cut some wood/build/mine because if you leave it alone for 5 seconds after it finishes, it explodes/burns/implodes/causes a rip in the spacetime fabric. Also, every machine you ever touched will violently explode in the chain reaction, no matter how far away.
  13. It was a Bukkit plugin called HeroSneak, it basically made the server send packets to other players "Okay Player 1 sneaking" while Player 1 wasn't. This basically causes Player 1 to appear crouched and able to fall off ledges and walk at normal speed 24/7 until he typed in /sneak again to disable. Ah, the times when Bukkit plugins were still simple. Vanish started out simple, too. But now there's a lot of useless and buggy BS like lightning strikes and silent joining which doesn't work when all you really wanted was invisibility.
  14. Worst part is, there's lots of invasive features in GregTech which you can't disable. You either have to download a separate addon or deal with it. Everyone says GregTech has so much content, but it doesn't. It just has so many copy-pasted and slightly renamed useless elaborate objects and recipes, coupled with huge waiting times (50 seconds per ingredient, anyone?) which makes it SEEM like a whole lot of content, but if you take out the grinding, there's very little left. And that's also why Greg is so hellbent on keeping the Industrial Blast Furnace waiting time so ridiculously high. Deep down, he KNOWS there's stuff wrong with his mod, but his ego is just too big to do anything about it.
  15. IIRC, EE2 was in one of the FTB packs as well. And it's still in Tekkit Classic, but just about every server restricts or disables it. And it's Tekkit Classic for a reason, the majority is probably playing Tekkit Lite. Also, solar panels which work at night is a hilariously stupid concept. Pro tip: A lot of the "serious" Tekkit players hated EE2 or certain parts of it.
  16. Not that anyone actually leaves their machines outside. But it's still one of those restrictive mechanics which don't make the mod more fun, but just more tedious.
  17. Pro tip: Read the rules before posting. There's more to rules than just "Don't be a dickbag". I'm not sure what GP is. But if it's a Bukkit plugin or Forge mod, then you're probably better off posting it in the relevant thread/subforum where the plugin/mod was posted instead of here. We can't do a lot with "It seems ridiculous" since we didn't make the mod.
  18. Solution #1: You'd need a less-than-legal launcher for this, coupled with Online Mode being disabled in Multiplayer Settings. And since there's no cracked Technic Launchers which work with Tekkit Lite, you'd need to get Tekkit Lite's mods into a normal Minecraft installation. Solution #2: Log in before you disconnect from the internet, and leave Tekkit running in the background. If you have Optifine installed, you can limit the framerate to 5 FPS to minimize resource usage.
  19. It probably happens because you can now cook buckets in normal furnaces as well to get rid of the water. However, due to a bug in how the Induction Furnace works with two inputs and outputs, coupled with empty buckets staying in their slot after crafting stuff like cakes probably causes this.
  20. Nothing happens. Tested using the latest Rec. Build of Tekkit Lite, and in the 1.4.6 versions of Tekkit Lite. EDIT: Never mind, furnace wasn't heated yet, that is weird. You're probably supposed to be able to empty them of water.
  21. How does the Induction Furnace allow duping Iron? The only thing I know of which can do something even remotely close to that is the Induction Smelter, which requires Rich Slag. There's a small chance you get Rich Slag when smelting ores with sand. And you can't get more rich slag without ores.
  22. Forestry isn't coming to Technic. That was made abundantly clear when Sengir put malicious code in his mod which still exists to this day (It's commented out, though). This proves Sengir is capable of such a thing, and it's not worth the risk, hassle or trouble to include it in Technic.
  23. That's pretty awesome. Guess I'll migrate to the new launcher, then. Not that I like GregTech.
  24. Canvas Bags work wonderfully for this purpose. Ender Pouches might also be what you're looking for, since you can just dump stuff in it and it'll be available in an Ender Chest in your base.
  25. Please, understand that it wasn't specified in your post that you didn't use Frequency 0. Also, make sure your Teleport Pipes aren't teleporting across dimensions, such as from the nether to the overworld or vice-versa. And the reason EU is being used up is because the Energy Link in Classic is pretty bad and will consume all the EU it can get, but only use about 32. So I'd also advise hooking up a BatBox to it as a limiter.
