  1. you could edit the vanilla modpack.jar with all the mods you want.
  2. is that working now? I'm still using the batch.
  3. I think we're all forgetting the smell. It's the hydrogen sulfide in farts create the odor. creepers drop gunpowder when you kill them so they must be chock full of sulfur. 4200N for 1.2 seconds? Unless creepers have severely reduced oxygenation through the intestinal walls, I don't think there'd be breathable air for a little while around ground zero. I also like how a silly comic turned into science. You people are fun.
  4. I'm pretty sure you don't need the whole filepath. This is kind of the end of my ability to help though. I don't use mac.
  5. oh yeah. There's no package with the jar. Utilities > java preferences You'll need to change the runtime parameters to java -Xincgc -Xmx1g -jar technic-launcher.jar
  6. You'll need to do the same steps on the technic launcher icon instead of the minecraft icon.
  7. Run launcher > enter user information > click login Technic will download all the necessary files and put them in %appdata%\.technicssp It will not modify your \.minecraft folder in any way.
  8. you should only have to install the mods to the modpack.jar that's how I got magnetic drops to work.
  9. The first one was ok. I think he'll be able to handle a feudal sci-fi.
  10. Anne Mccaffrey. My dad had the entire set. I read every single one of them in middle school. They are definitely worth the read. She's still writing them with her husband and they're supposed to start shooting a movie this year.
  11. I'll see if I can find something easy. from a cursory glance at the git, a snapshot modpack would need to be built every week to keep it up to date and the link would change every week as well. So do you have a public features list somewhere? something we can look at and anticipate?
  12. I have. it's dangerous. Thaumcraft helps. Gold symbols suck enemies in. fantastic for xp farms.
  13. Re: [128x] Sphax PureBDcraft [v6.0.5 and down] have these in 32x? I'm on a geforce 9300
  14. It would be that easy. It's also just as easy to use the minecraft launcher for the vanilla version.
  15. Agelian fix you'll need to change the "1" in -Xmx1g to a 4 if you want to allocate 4GB of RAM.
  16. Vanilla got added to the launcher list. It would be nice to be able to play the snapshots through the launcher as well. It's kind of the greatest thing ever.
  17. I loved skyblock. having a technic version is super awesome. hardcore is confusing as fuck though. I have no idea how this is supposed to work.
  18. I did. That's why I have the numbers in my original post.
  19. The drop down menu in the options doesn't work correctly. Selecting 1GB allocates 596MB and selecting anything else allocates 247MB. Is there a configuration file I can change? I'd prefer to use the launcher over a .bat to allocate memory to minecraft.
  20. pacman: this is built around having the entirety of technic pack installed. Millenaire and EE are required to make everything work.
  21. This is how you know to not click links on banned posts. With All My Love, Erus Prime
  22. I do like the new installer. I'm saying the function to select which mods you use in your game is something you should have kept. for instance, CI + inventory tweaks seems a little redundant so, in the old version, I just wouldn't install it. In the launcher version I have to open up the CI.txt and comment out all the key lines. That's just an example as it's not really a complicated task nor does it interfere with block ID's. possible method of doing this (from user perspective) 1) open launcher 2) enter username/password 3) click the choose minor mods button (major being the core like IC2, BC, EE, RP, whatever) 4) users put a check next to the wanted mod 5) click get files (an update/get files button before logging in would be nice since modloader.cfg seems to be reset every time) This will save some disk space which is important for portable players, save you some bandwidth, and free up some block ID's for people to customize their technic pack experience. I personally like multipage chests (1 ID) for my giant quarries. This guy is trying to get metalurgy to work so I'm sure he'd like the option to free up a few ID's. Power converters would be cool if it would work with BC 3.x. This would also make it a bit easier to update the mods individually (depending on what your backend is like as I have no idea) like the IC2 nuclear reactor crashing problem from 5.0.5. one more version and it would have been fixed. I'm mentioning this not to complain about the work that's been put in, but to offer a suggestion for a future update so it doesn't feel like I have to play technic this way. In my mind, it goes against the idea of modding in the first place. tl;dr : I like the launcher and the update method. I miss the freedom of choice from the jar launcher. btw: everyone should play the void map. it's kind of awesome.
