  1. Uninstall java completely. all of it. Reinstall java 7 x64. try again.
  2. one 99 cent app sold a million times is a million dollars.
  3. open up %appdata%\.techniclauncher run technic-launcher.jar the exe doesn't work for everyone.
  4. Re: "cracked" Yeah but they'd still be "Player" Really he should just buy the game if he wants to get down on tekkit. Hell, he could go donate plasma and get the money for it. I used to use my plasma donation money on crack so his would be way more productive.
  5. That's cool. not my style though.
  6. well, first get a 64 bit version of java 7. install it and try again.
  7. Re: "cracked" Oh. yeah that's true. your brother can't play tekkit.
  8. Re: "cracked" There's bukkit plugins like AuthMe that could help mitigate that but an offline server is generally not a lot of fun unless it's completely private.
  9. Re: "cracked" There's a server configuration file that has a property regarding the online mode of the server. IF the server is not online, it doesn't authenticate to minecraft.net but anyone with the IP will be able to login and grief the shit out of your server. Found that out the hard way.
  10. Uninstall all instances of java. reinstall just java 7. You might need to delete the .techniclauncher folder as well and do a full reinstall. These are the instructions on pointing it to the right place. It's possible you could have installed a 32bit java onto a 64 bit OS. 64 bit will default to c:\program files. 32 bit will default to c:\program files x86 steps to change your path variable. http://www.java.com/en/download/help/path.xml
  11. Get your dodge rating up. The Helen Keller attack drops your accuracy to 0%.
  12. There's a sticky called "common problems" that will help you with that issue. Last I checked it didn't mention the fact that if you install java 7 over java 6 you'll need to edit the environment variable PATH to point to java 7. Also, make sure you have the proper java for your OS. if you have a 64bit OS you need java 7 x64
  13. If you want a true vanilla server, you don't need hamachi. just get MineOS. You can install it on virtual box or something. It takes about 15 minutes to set up (there's a very detailed video tut). And you should be able to connect as soon as it's all installed. If you use virtual box, you need to change the network adapter to bridged in the settings before you open the VM. It defaults to NAT. There's even bukkit support if you decide to change things. It's pretty fantastic and lightweight.
  14. dude. hot scottish redhead. everyone needs an amy pond in their bedroom.
  15. Re: JAVA ERROR FIX (Read!) hey cheapy, the last common problem doesn't address the possible need of changing the PATH environment variable. If you install java 7 over 6 it has the potential of not changing it so they'll still get the "cannot find java directory" error when trying to run the launcher.
  16. it should default to Program Files for x64 bit applications.
  17. Re: JAVA ERROR FIX (Read!) open the command prompt and type cd C:\path\to\jar [press enter] technic-launcher.jar [press enter] it won't close the window this time when you get an error. Chances are it says it can't find java. do this. and point it to java 7 instead of java 6. http://www.java.com/en/download/help/path.xml
  18. For those reading this that don't know, it should be where java 7 is located.
  19. http://www.java.com/en/download/help/path.xml
  20. You're using java 6. You need to be using java 7 x64 If you have it installed you need to edit the PATH environment variable to the java 7 executable.
  21. you need java 7 installed you need to go into your environment variables and edit the PATH to point to the java 7 directory.
  22. Download the .5.4.8 exe. delete your .techniclauncher folder (backup your worlds) run the exe run the jar if you need to after that. If you continue to get the offline mode issue, delete the lastlogin file and try again.
  23. This is why fruit rollups have a label that says "remove cellophane before eating" 1) download your texture pack. It should be a zip file. 2) look inside the zip file. Sometimes they'll be a pack of multiple texture packs (like doku or tronic). 3) as long as it's just one zip file then you'll... 3) move your texture pack to Windows Technic: %appdata%\.techniclauncher\technicssp\texturepacks Tekkit: %appdata%\.techniclauncher\tekkit\texturepacks I don't know the exact location on mac or linux but I don't expect the file structure will have changed much.
  24. mirror.technicpack.net is the new server. technicpack.net is the old stuff. and the files aren't recent on git either.
  25. Cool idea. cloud storage seems like it would be more useful though.
