Because I am awesome here: I am getting a “Technic Launcher has Stopped Working Error”! If your launcher is encountering this error, a solution is to download the .jar file from http://www.technicpack.net/download/ (pick the third from the left (Linux/Jar)). If you are using Internet Explorer you will also need to change the file extension (the ending of the file) to .jar instead of .zip. Once you’ve done that, all you need to do is double-click on the file to run the launcher.

Well did you download the jar file? That is an important part to the whole using the jar file...

make sure you have the correct bit version of Java for your OS. If you do, uninstall the pack, turn off Norton and redownload.

it is probably because you are running Windows on a Mac. What version of the Launcher are you using? If you are using the Mac version, try the windows version (or vice versa)

:zombie: Try that. Threadjacker: Don't bother posting your own report. Metadata has nothing to do with the functioning of the mods. All it means is that the mod authors did not add a text file that describes what the mod does. Not having Metadata doesn't mean anything is broken.

Those are in the wrong order, reading the stickies here won't be very helpful if it is a Tekkit bug. Read the Tekkit sticky in those bug boards.

sounds like your AV is blocking the download. Uninstall, turn of your AV and firewalls then redownload.

OP: Give us more info so we can help you. This is actually the worst bug report I have ever seen. You didn't give us enough/the correct info in any category.

Download the newest version of .NET Framework.

Just fucking rename the file from techniclauncher(or what ever it is called).zip to techniclauncher.jar! It is not that hard.

Most of the time it is just easier to get rid of your hardware (and the duck and eggs in the process) and get a new computer. Some people can spend years fretting over their duck infested machines and it drives some over the edge.
