  1. The area where my well is is flooded because I forgot about water pressure and the water went around my pump. Good thing I had built a floodgate there moments before that happened. Now I need to wait until the short winter freeze before I can repair the damage and get another floodgate up where the water from the river enters the reservoir.
  2. The farlands don't exist anymore. When the new world gen parameters came out in... 1.8 I think, they changed it so that the map just ends in an invisible wall at where the farlands would be. So unless if you want to see an invisible wall (lol irony), don't bother going to the farlands anymore. Unless if you want to use mcnostalgia to revert to an earlier version.
  3. So yeah, I now have a weregiraffe. Go figure. It also immediately ripped the head off of a trader as soon as it spawned too.
  4. You cannot have anything other than 'Player' during offline mode. The game gets your name via the connection to minecraft.net. It's the same reason why you can't have your custom skin.
  5. Either check to make sure that the javaw.exe or java.exe tasks are not running anymore via the task manager. If that doesn't work, restart your computer.
  6. Personally, I like to play the games that influence game I really like. Even more so if it's freeware. Dwarf fortress is credited to be an influence for Minecraft, so I recently downloaded it and gave it a try. Even though the game itself is old, and the fact that it uses font characters for the graphics, instead of proper graphics, it is still alive and well. I wanted to say that the game is really fun, and is really hard for new players. Sound familiar? It should, because it was probably the same for when you all first started playing Minecraft. Basically, you start out with 7 dwarves, each with talents you can assign, and some tools/food/animals/resources you also can choose. You create a random map and choose an embark point. From there, you designate your dwarves to do things. Like dig a hole in the ground for your fortress. And by designate, I mean highlight an area for them to do something and hope to god that the one dwarf you decided to make your miner decides to actually dig. It's not that bad though. I recommend you all give it a try some time. You can download it either at the wikipedia, or the devs site, which is easily found by searching Bay12 Games.
  7. The one with smaller eyes means that you have viewed the main thread, but not the child thread, so it still is marked for new posts.
  8. Earbuds are a nice replacement. Because they fit right into your ear, you don't lose any of the sound from the speaker not covering your ear. Sound leakage also happens less too. Not to mention they are less likely to break because they are small. Just make sure to get a pair that don't start to hurt after a while. A good indicator of whether or not they will start to hurt is if there are any protrusions on the part where the speaker is. Only major problem with ear buds is that they tangle easier than headphones because they have one more cord that goes to the other bud, instead of just one cord going to one side, and then going through the part connecting. Remember, you get what you pay for, so cheap buds are going to be pretty bad, and expensive ones will probably be better.
  9. I also think that most of the people who come here regularly have ran out of the feeling of respect, patience, and well-being to other humans who come on here long ago. It kinda rubs off on you too.
  10. What the hell is going on here? Who let this guy in?
  11. Although that is extremely rare, and doesn't give complete underwater breathing. I think it almost doubles the amount of time you can stay underwater, but you will take drowning damage when all the bubbles are gone.
  12. Okay, I have to respond to this one, because it rubs me the wrong way. This is not like ACTA in any way. AT ALL. So don't even mention it.
  13. Has it? I guess they didn't feel like putting it into the patch notes.
  14. Also, I forgot to mention, it seems you get stairs back now when you break them, instead of just a block.
  15. No it's not in the launcher. This means that you need to go here: https://github.com/TechnicPack/Spoutcraft-Launcher/downloads and download the launcher.jar.
  16. Can you provide your system specs? Like your version of java, system info, etc.
  17. No, as soon as you open the technic folder from your appdata/roaming folder there should be a .bin file in it. If there isn't, I don't think there is much else I could provide.
  18. Could you provide some system specs please?
  19. I think this should go into the General Technic SSP board under the Child Board Dev Build Board.
  20. Try using the .bin file instead of the launcher.
  21. Tekkit isn't meant to be played single player. Use technic instead, that's what it's meant for.
  22. I do play Vanilla every once and a while, mainly when I get angry at Technic for crashing so much, but I haven't had a time to do it recently. Probably when I get home.
  23. Hmmm... I don't know. But I do notice that you forgot to add an 'o' to 'off' for railcraft. Maybe NEI is hard built into technic?
  24. Re: Massive FPS Drop With Tekkit... Updated with F3 Picture I was just responding to JOP5's comment about setting it to 8GB not being either good or bad. Sorry if that caused some confusion.
