  1. Actually, if I understand correctly, you are always connected to a multiplayer server so that other players can join you whenever it happens to be.
  2. Exactly what I meant. I think they actually managed to make it look a bit worse. I was watching the Yogscast guys play it and the sand on the beach they were near looked absolutely horrid from a distance. May have just been the resolution though.
  3. Yeah, if you look at the splash, along with Mojang, there are two new companies that show up. Probably small dev groups. But yeah, I don't think it's Mojang who are developing the XBox version.
  4. I don't think that Mojang has much to do with the XBox version. They probably were asked by the devs of the two new companies on the splash screen if it was okay to make an XBox version, and they said 'aight, and now probably don't do much of anything involving the XBox version, except maybe advise them.
  5. I totally agree with you. Just a note, I was never meaning to insult the XBox version, I was just saying that it will take a backseat to the PC version.
  6. Also, if the problem still happens, just disable OpenGL. Some older graphics cards do not have support for it at all.
  7. In regards to the controls of left placing, right mining, I think they are going off of the old 'free' version of Minecraft that is on the Minecraft.net website. Also, you need a new friend. Playing computer games with controllers? May as well just get the console and play it off of that. Finally, the computer version of Minecraft is still the main version almost everyone will play. I highly doubt Mojang will use it as a... testing ground... for the computer version, especially since they are PC gamers themselves, and considering the fact that the computer version is already months ahead of the console version, simply because they are using an old version on the console. Also, I watched Simon and Lewis play a little bit of the console version, and the slow look speed was literally making me sick.
  8. Speaking of screw pumps, I think the hardest thing I have had to do in Dwarf Fortress was set up a screw pump to purify the water coming from the river a few levels above. First try caused the pumping area to flood, and luckily I had just built a floodgate at the entrance to my mess hall otherwise it would have been flooded. To fix it, I had to dig under the current reservoir I had built to hold the unpure water and make a bigger one, just so I could drain the main one enough that I could get to my screw pump again, which meant I had to dig into a completely filled pool of water from below, and hope that my dwarf could swim his way out (he did by the way). It was actually pretty fun.
  9. You don't have to settle on the aquifer. It's there to provide an extra challenge. Just like the areas that respawn corpses as zombies. If you can't find a place that you like because they are all taken by aquifers, spawn a new map. Also, you don't have to use DT to tell dwarfs what to do, you can also use it just to find who does what better, and then find them in your fortress. I use it and I still manually assign dwarfs to certain tasks. It's not taking anything away from the experience, just really helping you find that one dwarf who is hiding in a mass of others that is the best at... cheese making.
  10. I second this. At least Dwarf Therapist doesn't change anything in-game, unless if you tell it to actually schedule the tasks for you.
  11. I would think that disabling aquifers is hindering the Dwarf Fortress experience, as you are getting rid of a fun challenge. Also, Dwarf Therapist is almost a necessity when you get more than 50 dwarfs, as it is really tricky to find the right one. I have only used it to find out who I need to change to a certain job after I finally built what they need, only to find I had switched them to a mason. After I find that person, I look at their name and find them myself in-game. It's more in the spirit of Dwarf Fortress than removing a challenge like an aquifer.
  12. Yeah, a photo would be nice, even if it's just an image of the vanilla blocks in that weird layout you always see on texture pack pages. A few of the more common machines would be nice too.
  13. I am a DF player, but I would rather not do something like this. I need to get back to my own game. Haven't played it in a few months. Dunno why.
  14. I'm also looking forward to Borderlands 2.
  15. Re: Esder scrolls MMO I'm still subbed because it's my mom who is paying for it. And the fact that she still plays it. She originally got it for my brother, but I think she likes it more than either of us, as we don't really play it at all anymore.
  16. Could be a custom edit by whoever took the picture. I would do things like that myself if I had an easy to change textures like that.
  17. Compared to the size of most new games, that is actually pretty small. And yes, because it is a AAA game it is going to be the full 59$ price, unless if Steam puts it on sale again. Going to be 20 years until they put the price down to 19.99$ or whatever.
  18. That's enough space. It only takes up around 6 gigs. Also, you could just put the graphics down. My 6 year old computer can run it fine when it's set to midrange graphic settings. Although in its defense the graphics card isn't stock.
  19. So that's why my old Yogiverse bookmark leads me to some weird shit.
  20. You should get it when you can. I recommend it off of Steam because you get the Workshop AND Skyrim Nexus (or whatever it's called) for modding. Not to mention that you got it off of Steam. Try and wait to see if they do a discount on it too.
  21. I don't get how someone can naturally type like that. Seems like a bit more work than either not using the shift key, or just capitalizing the proper words. Either that or they type it first in word, apply the capitalize the first letter of each word, and then paste it into the 'Post Reply' box.
  22. Could be that your computer can't actually run it.
