  1. ME pipes the objects around. MFR grow crops and turns into power. Then the waste sludge from growing gets boiled into dirt, clay and sand. I don't see how anyone ever has power problems, it is so easy to build a self-sustaining biofuel loop with MFR that even spits out 3 other blocks as waste.
  2. From what I have heard it is a known bug that tanks don't fill with air. The gali devs are fixing it.
  3. Taint wasn't that hard to deal with if you understood the mechanics, but you did need to deal with it. Rifts are similar, they just have a lower tech tier required to remove them. Honestly, taint was only hard to deal with in the first few hours of play, after you got some tech smashing taint was pretty easy.
  4. I don't get that. I have never had a pool fail on me, no matter the pump I use. Although the accumulator is probably a better habit to be in anyway.
  5. You could disable taint in the config too.... And I don't really have a problem with it. I actually liked having TC2 back when. I am just pointing out that it is likley to get a thread every few days asking why there are so many enderman, just like taint got constant threads going "whats this purple stuff?".
  6. Tutorials really are not needed for simple setups. Put lava in magmatic engine. Magmatic engine points into wooden conductive pipe. Wooden conductive pipe is connected to regular(stone/gold) conductive pipe(gold is much much much better than all alternatives). Regular conductive pipe goes to machine needing power. Machine gets power. Yay! If you want fancy you can replace all conductive pipes, both wood and regular, with redstone conduits. Or add a liquiduct/pump set up to pump lava into the magmatic engine instead of carrying it in buckets. Also, keep in mind that since magmatic engine is a TE engine it does not need a redstone input, although you can change that if you want in its internal gui. Lovely picture showing a magmatic engine with a bucket of lava sitting next to it, a wooden conductive pipe, gold conductive pipe and then pulverizer grinding up yummy ores.
  7. Stop using redstone engines. Use a real engine. Redstone engines are kind of crap for anything but wooden pipes.
  8. Stops working forever? Either you pumped up all the liquid, or you ran out of power for the pump.
  9. Magmatic engine. They take in lava, put out decent energy and don't explode ever. Once you hit the nether, lava is free and if you can get a tessearct and pump in the nether you can draw infinite power easily. From bottom tier to top tier, magmatic engines can handle it.
  10. As far as I am aware the majority of the engines and pipes do not explode. IIRC it is just the combustion engine that explodes, and only if you forget to water it. Early on a couple of magmatic engines are plenty of power, their fuel is practically free once you get into the nether, and they don't explode. The only early power problem is no storage till energy cells, but without IC2 you don't need absurd amounts of power. But yes, having only one tech tree to follow is a bit confining.
  11. Old tutorial. since then redstone engines have been nerfed. People were just making massive arrays of them for free infinite power. Now they don't send power into pipes properly or power machines. You need a real engine to power machines.
  12. Just get a few pumps in the nether and add on more magmatic engines as your power needs increase. They can take you all the way through end game.
  13. Oh wow, now I feel retarded. Was testing with a piston, but the piston was pushing on something that pistons can't move. The rednet cables don't have any visible indication they are being powered which fooled me even more. Okay, this is much better.
  14. It is near identical to IC2, with the exception that there is a free power redstone engine at the very bottom level for powering wooden pipes. People seem to be confused and assume the RS engine is a real engine, but it isn't. It would be better if they labeled it "mini-engine" or something like that to avoid confusion.
  15. Is there anything less overkill for small stuff? If i want a simple piston door with a lever only a few blocks from the door it seems like complete overkill to use rednet. I don't want to go back to actual redstone dust but for very small stuff like that, it looks much easier than setting up a PRC.
  16. Try using magmatic engines, they don't explode when you use them wrong, they just shut down till you smack them with a wrench if something goes wrong.
  17. Oh, redstone engines. Thats why. They produce so little power that the engine will often just give up and not even try. You need to attach a real engine to those machines. Pretty much anything but a redstone engine should work just fine.
  18. Clearly it isn't the exact same or it would work. Post some pictures so we can see it. Describing it only gets you so far.
  19. Indeed, exact same problem. Engines rotate to face something that can take in power and only run when they have somewhere to send the power. A single engine away from all uses of energy will do nothing. Engines are smart.
  20. Download thaumcraft 3 from wherever. Put it in your /mods folder. Done.
  21. Just use the edit button on your post. That way you can compress many posts into a single one. Although it is considered bad form to edit your post after someone else has posted. Basically, if you have the last post in the thread, edit that last post instead of making a new post.
  22. There are also biofuel generators from MFR which, once you have an automated farm running, can easily be used to generate absurd amounts of power.
  23. Nuclear reactors are fun to build, but really they serve no purpose other than supporting other high end IC2 stuff. If you want a nuclear reactor get atomic science from universal electricity. It has fun reactors to build.
  24. The rifts are quickly becoming the new tc2 taint. Spawning everywhere, expanding and forcing players to deal with them quickly.
  25. I think people are being turned off by the triple posts.
