Actually, it's both. Multiple people have told him several times how to solve his problem. He also is such a condesensing dickbag, that he isn't worth the time of day (where does that expression come from anyways?).

Well me and Jorcer have decided to comb through the launcher bug reports to see if we can find a common denominator between the people who are having issues using the .exe file. Considering that there are 169 pages of bug reports, and there are 20 reports per page, I'm not feeling particularly optimistic. I'm probably gonna resort to digging through the launcher source code on github. If that still doesn't tell me what the problem is, I'll decompile my copy of the .exe (I also can't launch the launcher with the .exe) and compare its code to the code on github to see if there are any differences. If there are, I'll have to figure out what's causing it. I'm a little bit afraid that I'll have to decompile the windows source code and dig through that to find the source of the problem.

Explain how you fixed it please. Me and Jorcer are trying to figure out what's causing the problem, and knowing the solution will help.

Once we've identified them, it makes it easier to find a common denominator (besides the fact that they use 32 bit OS). We could compare them to each other, or to my computer, as I actually have the same problem (the .exe not working) but I don't bother about it because I jst set up a shortcut to the .jar on my desktop.

I don't know. The .exe works fine for people with a 64 bit operating system and 64 bit java, but for people with 32 bit operating systems and java, the .exe does not work sometimes. The fact that it works for some 32 bit users and not others points to it not being an issue on Tekkit's side, and makes me believe it is most likely a problem on the user's side. The difficulty in pinpointing the issue is that we can't find the common denominator as the bug reports we get (even the ones that are properly filled out) don't give us enough information. It is very likely that we have the information, but we can't see it in the giant pile of bug reports we get. One of these days I'm gonna try to track down the common denominator of the people with the 32 bit .exe issue.

It is a solution. Instead of using the .exe, just use the .jar instead. We don't know how to fix your .exe, but we do know an alternative to using the .exe.

Yes, but I'm saying that if the option to disable just pastebin is on (which it is by default), you can still access pastebin, it's just much harder. Unless I'm forgetting something really important.

Even with the download from pastebin function disabled, it is still possible to write a program that does the exact same thing, thus allowing you to download code from pastebin even when the built in download from pastebin function is disabled.

A help request doesn't have to be "perfect", it just has to follow the rules for how to properly submit a bug report/help request. Yes, a lot of people here do mess with idiots, because we know you'll react the you are acting. We're only unhelpful to people who can't be bothered to read/follow the rules. And if they start complaining, we treat them like idiots (which they are) and try to either teach them to not be an idiot, or get rid of them. This forum is not tolerant of idiots who don't read the rules. It says at the top of the forum homepage "These are the rules, Read them or Get Bent. Whichever." They chose to get bent. As for wether it's an "American Thing", a lot of people on these forums are not American. Jorcer is a Canadian, which you would know if you had actually bothered to read any part of his profile other than the "messing with idiots" part. As for "leaving it" and "only post in their thread if you can help them", what makes you think you have the right to tell anyone on this forum to do anything?
