Gee, maybe if you would do something beside tell us to rewrite the DETAILED STEP BY STEP GUIDE for you, you'd get some answers. Until then, you'll just have to make do with ridicule. What you're doing is akin to going to a bug board and just shouting "I DON'T UNDERSTAND." instead of filling a bug report.

Steam sales don't count, because they aren't even remotely reliable. I get one thing from a steam sale once in a great while, but mostly it's only stuff i've got no interest in that goes on sale. That or it's another "get skyrim for 6% off" sale.

Okay. Step by step walkthrough coming up. set aside a place specifically for building the pack. install the mod in this area exactly how the mod author describes on their site. If a mod is listed as a core mod, create and place it in a 'coremod' folder. Mods go in a 'mods' folder, and any config files you've created go in the 'configs' folder. if a mod has files that need to be placed inside minecraft.jar, you will instead place all of these files inside a 'modpack.jar' you create yourself. so creation of the jar is as simple as renaming a zip as jar. Select all extracted files that are instructed to go into minecraft.jar Add these files to an archive using the program of your preference Name the archive as modpack.jar in the ZIP format (Make sure you do not save it as modpack.jar.zip) Take the finished modpack.jar and place it in the ‘bin’ directory of your custom modpack include all the files in their proper directories inside a single zip file, either by creating a new zip and placing them inside, or by using an archive program to create the zip for you. EDIT: Please note that this is all copy and paste. Please learn to english better.

Yeah, that's the only thing that bothers me about digital distribution platforms. Games keep their high prices for ages, and it seems like DLC never goes down in price at all. That being said, there's nothing stopping me from going to a game shop or ordering a physical copy from somewhere.

You know what i'm ACTUALLY excited for? The long overdue pricedrop that simcity 4 will probably experience. If it makes it into "cheap as chips" category, i'll finally get the chance to play it and see what all the fuss was about. In fact, that's usually what excites me about new games. "Skyrim's coming out! WOO PRICE DROP FOR OBLIVION!" "FFXI coming out? PRICE DROP FOR FFX" etc. etc.

Sounds like you've got something screwy going on with Java, rather than the launcher itself. Try reinstalling java.
-
No worries. I had to go through similar junk when i started learning Java last month.
-
The runtime environment is what you should be getting. The dev kit won't help. You can google java 1.5, i don't remember it being too hard to locate.
-
Okay... Hm... Oh! did you get both Java 1.5 and Java 1.7? Sounds counter-intuitive, i know, but it's helped a few people with launcher problems.
-
Okay, then try using JavaRa to clean it all out, and reinstall java after that. Ignore that user variable up there, i had a stupid moment. That path variable that's highlighted is what you should have changed. If you don't have that, it's okay to add it.
-
and you still can't get a java version from CMD? You could also try googling JavaRa, and telling it to clean all the java stuff out of your system.
-
Not for most of the things. IDresolver just breaks shit. The bright side is that changing IDs on your own isn't super difficult, unless you have two mods that hardcode to the same ID. Most don't hardcode their IDs though, so you should be fine.
-
Yeah, that happens. IDresolver causes almost as many problems as it fixes, unfortunately.
-
I got a similar error when installing the Java developer kit. Try this in CMD type: java -version if it can't get a java version do the below. 1. Right click Computer 2. Click properties 3. Click "Advanced system settings" 4. Click "Environment Variables" 5. Under system variables, find the Path variable 6. Click edit, and append to the end of the value: ";C:\(insert java.exe path here)" 7. restart the launcher

Gee, it's almost as if always-on DRM is like... a bad idea or something.
-
Well, google PCSX2. It's totally legal to make a backup of a game you own, and play it on the computer. Technically you're supposed to have the hardware to back up your own PS2 firmware too. As for a dual analog controllers for the PC, i have a nice cheap Logitech controller. I got it at best buy for $15 seven years ago, and it's worked fine for me since then.

It's important to recognize that devs are, in general, not the problem here. Devs are just guys with jobs in the creative industry. The problem is the CEO's and other fatcat buisiness folk who don't really understand the world that they're selling to. They're the ones telling the devs that the game needs to have intrusive DRM. Devs are being given a choice between sabotaging their own livelihood, and supporting the gamers who play their games. It's not an enviable situation, and most devs that i've talked to dislike the always-on DRM trend.
-
I'm not saying that that doesn't have a certain appeal, but if your in north america, you probably missed out on the whole Dark Aeon thing, and you can get that via emulator too. Also, dual analog PC controllers are totally a thing, and they are awesome.
-
If you do have the legal opportunity, i'd suggest emulating FFX. The PCSX2 has a ton of software enhancements that make FFX look great compared to how it was on the PS2. That and the option to use things like save states, and debug codes can enhance enjoyment quite a bit.
-
I dunno, i hope you're right, but my confidence in Square Enix is pretty low, and their track record for remakes is a whole lot of talk and pretty much no action.
-
click on the gear below the entry for Voltz.
-
If you want to check out the launcher code it's open source.
-
Okay, then try the button that says "reset pack".
-
yeah, but are you on the right version? I mean, the newest update is 1.1.3, but i see a lot of the reccomended servers are on 1.1.2 Otherwise, you might try the "reset this pack" (or whatever) button.
