did you read? I didn't say that uninstalling will fix your problem NOW, i said "after this gets patched" because it looks like there's a problem with how the launcher handles the new minecraft update.

After this problem gets patched, you may still have issues. This is because AVG does not like to relinquish it's hold on your computer. Thare have been a good number of people who have had to completely uninstall AVG in order to get technickpack working.

Jeezus, guys, stop doing that. "updated" "recently reinstalled" "most recent" are relative terms, that may or may not be correct. Always provide BUILD NUMBERS, because those are what people need in order to diagnose your problems.

It's true, there is a lot of this issue going on, but there's always "update failed" issues going on, because of the java 6 problem that noone ever seems to fix on their own.

When you say you have AVG "completely off" do you mean that you actually uninstalled it? because in many cases, that is what you need to do.
