  1. no, it says false because the CPU is not 64bit. that is not a java type indicator anyway, the logs look clear as far as I can tell. there's clearly not any firewalls blocking the launcher from connecting to the internet. try using the vanilla launcher to log into regular minecraft and see if there's an issue or go over to minecraft.net and try to log in. see if there's an issue.
  2. indeed. anyway, locking the thread.
  3. man, it's lookin pretty pink in here. back on track here, OP, can you post your logs? the common problems and solutions thread has instructions on where to find them. edit: RE: idiocy in the post right below this one. we discourage memes for a reason. your post is a great example of that reason.
  4. in addition to what jorcer said, this solution would not work for the OP anyway because he's on an old version of mac OS. that is his problem in its entirety.
  5. I suggest you grab hold of something securely anchored to the floor, you're liable to fly off when you're spinning that hard.
  6. make sure you have the latest version of the launcher. you may have to redownload it. it has been updated very recently. if that does not work, try the .jar instead of the .exe.
  7. guess you won't be playing it then
  8. this issue has been completely resolved, along with the malformedURL deal. I'm locking this thread to prevent further stupidness.

    FPS issues?

also make doubly sure that you are using 64-bit java if you're on a 64-bit machine. the launcher has a habit of using 32-bit even when you try to tell it not to.
  10. that's because it's an entirely different problem. so far I have no known solutions to the malformedURL error.
  11. this malformedURLException issue is not the same thing that this thread's solution fixes. if you're getting that, something else is going on. I suspect there are yet more bugs in the updated launcher or some such. it is able to download MC, and recognizes the version correctly (this was the issue before), but fails at downloading the next step, which I assume is the info to downgrade the client maybe? I'm not really sure. anyway, I'll make a note in the OP about it.
  12. right now, EE3 is pretty much just a portable crafting table from what I can tell. we'll see how it turns out as it moves forward. honestly with the SMP/SSP merge, thaumcraft does a lot of what EE did and does it in an awesome and cooler way. it's really too early to judge though because EE3 is hardly close to complete
  13. exactly. this is why things like this are a bad idea, even if technic users aren't going to suffer for it it is still a bad idea.
  14. let's take this massive pile of stupid one piece at a time, shall we? firstly, enjoy your vacation. I hope you don't actually return. moving on, I never said I "worked for java", which doesn't even make any sense anyway, because java is simply a language and the company that makes the VM is oracle. I don't work for oracle either. error messages that you get when doing god knows what are not my problem, again. make sure my posts are spell and grammar checked? speak for yourself there, captain run-on sentence. far more help than is even warranted has been provided in this thread to people who have never learned to computer enough to rename files or use a real browser, or both. no, you failed to follow the instructions and you may even have more than one issue, which would not surprise me based on your rantings here. however, yes it's a workaround. it's not a super pretty one either, but it works and if it gets people back into the game, that is a good thing. as for your follow up post, yeah, I totally saw your post and was like, "shit, he's on to us! publish that fix we've been sitting on for days! one guy on the internet found us out, THE JIG IS UP!" that's totally what happened. good job.
  15. no it doesn't. again, you're an idiot and don't understand programs, programming, java, or computers apparently. indeed, 1.4 releasing is the root cause for this issue. the launcher will be updated in the near future to handle that I'm sure. by the way, the reason 1.2.5 is needed is that technic and tekkit run on 1.2.5, not 1.3.2 or 4.1.2. if you knew what an MD5 hash was, you'd understand why this is so. edit: your ineptitude is not my problem. if you can't even rename a jar file correctly, you have more serious problems than a malfunctioning technic launcher.
  16. did you ignore the people who posted about it working? or the ones who claimed it didn't, then got personal help via skype and suddenly it works now? jar files can, you're just an idiot.
  17. post a bug report then. glad it worked for you though, is as much as a white screen is working.
  18. torezu is being nice. I am not. enjoy your warning points.
  19. just because you cannot follow directions does not mean they don't work. nor does it mean you should report posts with completely legit solutions to issues or reasonable suggestions of next steps because you are apparently butt hurt.
  20. here's the thing: it isn't being done to "the modpack", it's being done to the players using the modpack. that's a huge difference. just because they're using a mod pack doesn't make them non-people who deserve to get their C drive formatted or whatever.
  21. there's a thread in the launcher bug board section with the fix to this. be sure to follow the instructions correctly, because many people seem to be unable to do so.
  22. to build on Jay?'s response, it is also a problem for server owners if the pack updates frequently. every update causes a lot of work to be needed on the server side to update plugins, patch any new issues, work out kinks all over again, or even reset the world if the update is not compatible with previous maps. it will update when it updates, and that is how it is.

    Modpack

    no one.
  24. you took the time and effort to use a 0 instead of an O, but couldn't be assed to type more than a single three letter acronym? that's impressive, I guess.
