  1. not if you're getting those kinds of problems you didn't. IC2, railcraft, NEI, and mo' creatures all have 4.1.2 versions. in fact, the 4.1.2 dev build of technic has all of them in there.
  2. if you're talking about using redpower, then you are clearly either using the wrong version of minecraft, or the wrong version of redpower. there's been no updates to redpower past 1.2.5, and if you're using the latest forge you are probably running 4.1.2 (4.1.3 maybe? is that even out yet?). this leads me to believe that you are probably using the wrong versions of pretty much everything. make sure that the mods you're using actually work for the minecraft client version you're using. this is also why EE2 doesn't work. there is no EE2 for 4.1.2 or 4.1.3, whichever is current nowadays. edit: in fact, now that I've read the entire OP, you may want to not try and copy/paste stuff from tekkit and expect it to work.
  3. I think it only takes fuel to move/perform actions (could be wrong). even if that's not the case, you could just setup chargers for them that fuel them while they're in their rest positions using some solar panels or whatever else.
  4. oh I forgot to add this: also, put sparklefarts back into technic. it's just not satisfying without the sparkles.
  5. man, FUCK options in my sandbox game. I spent 4 hours doing one thing and it was totally more effective at producing stuff than this other thing I spent 4 hours making! what a piece of shit, I mean there's no reason that I should be able to spend 4 hours and not get the exact same amount of things produced no matter what I'm doing. efficiency sucks a dick man, like vacuum packed. games shouldn't have so much shit in them or more than one way to do anything. god.

  7. technically, yeah you could. NEI can show you item IDs and metadata in the tooltips. it displays as two numbers like this: "23:43" the format is itemID:metadata
  8. the way that items "share" IDs, is through what's called metadata. it's how charge, durability, and some other things are handled. it's also used by some mods to compress their item ID footprint. any good plugin for banning items can differentiate between items based on metadata.
  9. try redpower timers. you can set some pretty long delays on those. if it's not enough time, use a timer and a counter to wait for multiple ticks

  11. pretty much this. the technic launcher literally does nothing to normal minecraft installs. there is no way your problem is technic launcher related.

  13. wooden pipes at the top of tank stacks cause problems. namely, the one you've described with the missing liquid. put them on the bottom and you're good. I'm not sure if input pipes can work going in the top, hopefully they can.

      Ok, thanks. Wasn't sure whether the admins could actually see the spam on the report, and if not might think I was just trolling them. I prefer to be on the safe side when I'm not sure.

  17. this doesn't belong here. it belongs in the launcher bug board with a proper bug report post. that includes a log, which you have no provided here and which will be essential in solving your issue.
  18. I don't think there's anything wrong with PvP in and of itself. the problem is when PvP is forced upon people who don't want to PvP. I wouldn't call the fact that you can kill other players the ruination of MC, but maybe you should either find a small or private server to play on where that doesn't happen or is not allowed. I'm not really an expert on bukkit plugins, but surely there's a way to disable player to player damage for servers that want to remove PvP. I know there's a flag in the server configs, but I don't know if the mod items respect that or not.

  21. something has already been made. it's called "online mode" and it prevents this kind of thing. it also has the side effect of removing unsavory "friends" who are actually assholes.

I am a co-founder and primary field tech of a family business. we do residential and small business IT support. education wise, I'm at some college + a few IT certs. not a fan of school, despite being more than capable of passing classes and whatnot. I still take the occasional class for work purposes.
  23. unknown at this time. the vanilla pack is kind of an afterthought usually, so don't hold your breath. on the plus side, you can always just use the vanilla launcher.
  24. my thought on it is that if we were all reasonable and sane adults here, it wouldn't be a problem. however, we're not. the fact is that most users on these forums are going to be 12-18, and they're going to act like it. they can and will just post memes in reaction to things, which don't really foster real discussions. this is why we can't have nice things.
  25. instead of doing what I want to do, and listing all the things you did wrong with this post, I'm going to instead warn you appropriately and then lock it. we're not your personal server concierge, we have server sections for a reason. servers with minimal plugins and such exist, but you will have to find them yourself.
