if you open it up right now does it have all that stuff set the way you think it's set? if no, then no. if yes, then apparently it does.

disable the zepplin mod in modloader.cfg, then try it. if it works, save and exit, then you can try enabling the zepplin mod again. I'm thinking that *should* solve your problem.

sounds like something's up with your railcraft config file. if it works once after redownloading, it may be something strange like hard drive errors. do a scandisk and have it do a surface scan (or deep scan) and then reinstall technic launcher and see if it stays working after that.

are you saving the file? because if nothing's sticking even though you're changing the settings you are either not saving the changes, or you are changing the wrong file somehow.

have you tried restarting the server after you make the changes?

ask yourself, "do I know java well enough and have the time to waste to fork the launcher's git repository in order to keep changing the install directory just for me on every version that comes out?" if the answer is "no" then the junction is one step, never needs to be updated, and doesn't require java knowledge. the junction doesn't mess with the installer, it just redirects it wherever you want it. it's fast and easy. also, get better friends.

there's tons of stickies for how to setup servers right here in this section. there one for every OS you could use. do some reading and learn something.

double posting is bad. don't do it. that mod requires 7, but you can always just remove it if you are somehow unable to upgrade your OS.

while not one I use often, I enjoy tamperdata for firefox. the best way to mess with your http form data or do a quick base64 or url encode/decode

with that attitude, yeah that's what you're going to get. however, you actually HAVE followed the bug report format so it makes trying to help a little easier. since redstoner was with it enough to provide a log, we've got something to go on. does this happen to everyone on the server? if not, I am thinking it is an item overload issue. BC pipes can break sometimes due to chunk unloading (or just being broken by stuff) and spill tons of items all over the ground. item spills like this can cause serious problems if you log in on top of them or wander too close to them.

oh I'm sorry, were you the OP? I wasn't trying to help you specifically, I was helping the OP. that solved his problem, which wasn't your problem and thus probably doesn't work for your new, completely different problem. minecraft modding isn't user friendly, I'm sorry. it's a damn miracle they have the launcher to the point that it's at in terms of automating all the stuff behind the scenes so you don't have to.

I know that many server do not like EE or certain parts of it. that doesn't mean it's not going to be in the pack anymore.

what you're looking for on a mac would be a shell script.

make the mac equivalent of a batch file that runs the launcher .jar with java 6 specifically. I'm assuming you have them both installed at the same time. unfortunately, I'm not intimately familiar with the inner workings of macs so that's the best I can do.
