Quick note from a while back. GregTech is DESIGNED not to work in a technic/Tekkit install. The creator has posted this somewhere in his forum thread.... I'll see if I can find it.

Technic is single-player only, and (I think) is still on 1.2.5 whereas Tekkit Light is Server based multiplayer for 1.4.5/1.4.6

I make a world, made for mining (1 or two dense ores) Then set up a quarry, high in the air. Then as soon as it is done, get the heck out the world, through the book into lava and delete the world folder. Works every time, so long as you bring a few linking books.

Has the server been restarted since you changed the config?

Seems you are using the wrong version of Tekkit, (up/down)grade your Client so it matches your server.
