What have you tried doing? Did you just click on the thing? or did you press "R"? Is it possible that you accidentally changed the key you need to press?

If you haven't bought minecraft, and are getting it from someone who has, that's piracy.... Although, if you do have minecraft, and just want to get it from him so you can play without the launcher because the launcher isn't working, go post a bug report in the Launcher Bug Section and see if you can't get it to work.

Most likely, there was some issues with the minecraft.net servers, it's nothing to do with you.

Yes, but that would still require running the launcher first. Also, I don't see any legitimate reason you would want to run Tekkit without the launcher.
