  1. Many thanks, I'll try those suggestions. It is a large area with a load of spread out electrics and storage chests. The world was made before Tekkit 3 but since I've started learning about more of the features, I've been able to cut loads of pipes between sections and have made things more efficient. My next plan is to make a new area and the electronics/processing will be undertaken in a 3x3 chunk area, underground and far out to sea, accessed by rail. A single anchor will take care of that area and wireless redstone combined with ender chests should take care of the rest; while the "homestead" shouldn't need any anchors, I hope, so many people should be able to use it simultaniously.
  2. OK - getting to the bottom of it. It seems the world anchors are causing my client to lag. After moving all the major machinery out of an area, it was still lagging. The base is reasonably large with about six anchors; removing five of them sped the client up a great deal, it is even showing the contents of the crystal chests with no issues. Anyone have any ideas why this should be please?
  3. People aren't lagging in their own areas, it's when they come in to my island that they've got problems. If I can identify the worse lagging offenders then maybe I stand a chance of re-designing to cut some of the lag - I've already done what I can.
  4. Can no one help on this please?
  5. I built a tree house and had all sorts in there, (the server is local to me) but when others come close to it, they lag out. I replaced all the white lamps with glowstone, cut down the redstone timers, replaced long pneumatic runs with enderchests and all sorts, but they still lag out on a 0.3Mbs residential ADSL line ... when they start their own areas, they seem fine ... so there must be something I've done in my area which is causing so much lag that they time out. Can anyone point me to the worst offenders for lag causers please?
  6. Many thanks, that did the trick. Feed it from the bottom or the side, and then pump off the finished goods from the top.
  7. As the Automatic Crafting Table MKI has been around so long, all my searches for the MKII are failing to come up with any instruction. Can someone kindly post a link to some instructions please?
  8. Hi Folks, I'm obviously not finding the right combination with the new client. When something is typed in to the NEI for search, the rest of the screen goes dark and I have to clear the text again to get a decent visible colour. Can someone kindly tell me the option to turn this effect off please? Many thanks.
  9. Difficult to find anything concrete about it. The recipe is in the NEI. I do know that you can place the energy link next to the quarry, then some copper cable and some low voltage solar panels, and this works. (I also have some bat boxes in between the panels and the energy link, but I think that they are not necessary) However, I can't find an way to turn it off. I've tried feeding a redstone pulse to the quarry and also to the energy link, but nothing seems to stop the quarry.
  10. OK - I've put the energy link right next to the quarry and it is powering it. My only problem now is working out how to retard the operation.
  11. Yeh, it was a good engine. Redstone engines can power a quarry, but from my testing it seems like you can only power one face of the quarry at a time. I think I went up to a maximum of five engines, but, oh, was it sloooooow going. I have used two combustion engines with a timer, so that each is only on for four minutes at a time, then it flips to the other engine to prevent overheat; but at least you can leave them running for a while. I've also pumped oil straight from a well to the two engines using the waterproof teleport pipes; I didn't get any oil spills, but it wasn't long before I had the resources to build the electrical engines. Once I've found out how to safely hook up the energy links to the quarry, that'll be the way to go I think ... however because of the amount of energy that the link drinks, I'm not sure if it will be a "day only" operation. I hope someone answers my questions soon!
  12. The electrical engine was part of Forestry which ahs been removed. There is an ability to use the Electrical Link, but I'm not certain how to use it myself, hence I have a post asking that question.
  13. Hi Folks, I've done a heap of searching and am turning up nothing. Perhaps the term "energy link minecraft" is a bit too wide! The electricity 101 is hard reading and I need to spend more time on it than I've got. I was previously using - low voltage solar array (x2) -> Bat box (x2) -> Electric Engine -> Quarry -> Ender Chest Now, I'm going to use the energy link, and this is how I understand it... Low voltage array (x2) -> Energy Link -> Quarry Ender Chest ... the link drains everything so the bat box is useless, if I read correctly. If I also understand right, the LV arrays both put out 32 packets and the energy link will pass on those packets as input, so I don't need to transform down; do I have that right? So, my other question is, as the energy link appears to have no output side, how do I connect it to the quarry. I read of people using conductive pipes, but I'm concerned that the quarry would try and spit the contents out through the pipe rather than the ender chest, so I'm not sure how to go about connecting the two. If someone can tell me what's missing, or point me at a video tutorial, I'd be grateful for the help. Also, if I wanted to use medium voltage arrays, should I transform down between the arrays and the energy link, or between the energy link and the quarry ... and why?
  14. Launcher 1.0.1.3 Client - 3.0.3/1.2.5 Server - 3.0.4 After converting the old world and deleting the now defunct chunk loaders, F9 still gives a large spread of blue lines in a pattern which is inconsistent with the old chunk loader pattern. I removed the two anchors I placed and tried again, but still the same odd pattern. The server log recognizes the anchors when I place them and reports that it loads them after a restart, but it still doesn't seem to have an effect on the pattern I'm getting with the F9 function. The old pattern was a + sign, loading five blocks. I believe from what I've read so far, that the anchor loads a 3x3 block of chunks. If someone can confirm this for me please, then at least I can get the new anchors placed without the assistance of f9.
  15. For me, I don't have that much time in my gaming day, so it helps me achieve in a realistic time, what would otherwise take me so long to achieve that I would probably get dispirited. Plus I still have to work to get many of the original items I want to replicate, anyway, so I still have to do some hard work; like battling a ghast to get a tear, etc. and as these things are used in potions, it would tie me up a lot, lot more in areas which would, again, dispirit me.
  16. I was just trying to be sure I was crafting the correct items, before I wasted resources crafting the wrong ones in a survival server. From your statements, I'm assuming I've got the right ones. Many thanks.
  17. Hi Folks, There are some new wireless redstone blocks and I just wanted to confirm that they are 177 and 177:256 before I used the resources to make them.
  18. That's part of the problem. I don't have the original files for the latest backup as I accidentally overwrote them during a file copy - a case of too many windows open. I'm not seeing a wireless receiver at 127 in the new system, the closest I can find from the IDs given by the item search in the new client, is 177, and they look wildly different. Are those the new wireless tranceiver pair? 177 and 177:256
  19. In the mean time, I took a previous backup world, went in and destroyed all the wireless redstone and took up the transmutation tablets from their places. It then went through the same processes of mIDas gold and tekkitfix. As expected, the chunk loaders became pipes so I've made some anchors and I think I'm having issues with them and the F9 function, but I'll make a separate post about that. All in all, I've lost 24 hours of a few peoples work, but it is perhaps better to do that than to cause minor mayhem and heartache trying to recover that lost time. If my experiences can help, however, then I have a backup of the borked world and I'm happy to spend some time debugging it, if it will help to make things better for the community. You'll have to PM me as I'll not be watching this post too closely after this. Many thanks for the help so far.
  20. There was a lot going on in this world, but all of it standard tekkit. Some machinery was controlled by wireless redstone whereas a switch would go through a not gate, then to the transmitter, then the receiver would retard a timer; hence in the off position, the wireless is on. This world has been through the mIDas Gold once and then through the tekkitfix. If someone logs in another chunk then they can play. In my chunk with everything that is going on, I don't see any chunks, I just freefall and the server stops. 21. mIDas gold was only run the once against each world. Thanks to your advice, I got the tekkitfix script running and applied to the worlds. however, the error log still says the same the moment I log in, and the server halts. EDIT - Could it be a problem that the redstone transmitters/receivers were powered on when the world was converted? Is that what the error means?
  22. OK - I'm not sure about this, because according to the patch.txt, the wireless redstone units have been changed to 0 already. So now I'm not sure what those error messages actually mean. I'm stuck until someone can help.
  23. Right .... ... ok ... ... it looks like I might have dragged and dropped the updated worlds to the backup folder instead of the live folder. Forward is going to be my only way. I presume if I can use the mIDas Gold utility to change the ID's of the wireless transmitters and receivers, and possibly also the transmutation tablets, then that should get me around the errors and I can get back in to the worlds. Do I have that right please?
  24. Tried to roll back; destroyed entire contents of old server directory and replaced with a whole-directory backup, also destroyed my .technic directory and re-downloaded the version 2 client and odd things are happening. All solar panels have vanished. Alchemy chests look like version 1 collectors but still function as alchemy chests Interdiction torches have been turned in to another graphic. transmutation tablets have been turned in to alchemy chests but still function as transmutation tablets the relay mark 3 and some of the collectors are now wireless transmitters. So ... it looks like I can't go forward and I can't go back. Help! Please!
