maniacmusic Posted July 25, 2012 Posted July 25, 2012 Hello, my Tekkit server is getting quite crowded and I need to optimize it. How can I use Spigot or Craftbukkit++ on my Tekkit server - What are the exact steps? Is there a drag&drop ready Tekkit version somewhere ? Thanks in advance! Quote
maniacmusic Posted July 25, 2012 Author Posted July 25, 2012 Wow this is falling behind pretty quickly. I need a answer here, it's important for me. Quote
Torezu Posted July 25, 2012 Posted July 25, 2012 Just change the tekkit.jar filename to whatever the GUI uses. I think that's all you should have to do. Quote

I'm using no GUI, I'm running Tekkit on a root server. That's not my problem. I tried using the CB++ MCPC and the Spigot MCPC version but simply replacing it didn't work. Quote
HalibutBarn Posted July 25, 2012 Posted July 25, 2012 Note that you'll probably have to apply the 4096 block ID fix to Craftbukkit++ yourself, as it's not built-in like it is with MCPC's Bukkit. Quote

How do I do that? Does someone have a Tekkit ready Craftbukkit++ version? Otherwise I would need a step by step explanation so I don't mess up. :S Thanks. Quote

Yeah I know that... All I need to do is replacing that with Tekkit? Last time I tried it, it gave me a bunch of errors and the server didn't start. Quote
MindTooth Posted July 25, 2012 Posted July 25, 2012 So it's possible to update Bukkit outside the .jar shipped with the standard Tekkit? Quote
mhouser Posted July 25, 2012 Posted July 25, 2012 Experimenting a bit: Downloaded bukkitplusplus version craftbukkit-1.2.5-FML-R4.1-SNAPSHOT-76.jar Made a new folder with edited Server launcher.bat java -Xmx8G -Xms4G -jar craftbukkit-1.2.5-FML-R4.1-SNAPSHOT-76.jar nogui pause Overwrote all file in this folder with what I have in my Tekkit 3.1.1 server folder. Deleted bukkit.yml for it to be recreated to include the PlusPlus specific options. Client side everything seems to run fine. Server side, any container a player opens gets a [sEVERE] SERIOUS BUKKIT PORTING ERROR. Quote

mhouser Posted July 27, 2012 Posted July 27, 2012 Seems to work if you don't mind a bunch of server errors being displayed. Cant really say if it helps with lag any since I'm the only one on my server. Quote
maniacmusic Posted July 27, 2012 Author Posted July 27, 2012 OK! The Spigot MCPC version work just fine with 3.1.1 not with the previous Tekkit version though, one of the mods is outdated. ^^ Quote
Sp0nge Posted July 27, 2012 Posted July 27, 2012 We are using CB++ with 0 issues. Just download the correct port that contains the Forgeversion the client is using, and ur all set. Quote

Skuli Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 I've been using this build of Spigot: http://forums.spout.org/threads/1-3-1-spigot-the-most-performance-savvy-craftbukkit-mod-out-there.3776/ for some time now and it has allowed me to double server slots and keep 20tps. The post says it's 1.3.1, but the MCPC build is still 1.2.5. This is the ONLY CB++/CB-- build I've been able to locate that allows you to use external mob spawning plugins like monsterapocalypse or commandbook's /spawnmob command. Quote

Skuli Posted August 11, 2012 Posted August 11, 2012 Any timer usage on my server with that spigot build caused MASSIVE lag. Even slow timers, if a few were running. Quote
MindTooth Posted August 11, 2012 Posted August 11, 2012 Thanks for the tip I'm running a few, but the server has been running good so far. Quote

Skuli Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 Be very careful with this build. In my testing, explosions that kill a player generally destroy 90% of that player's items, while explosions with standard Tekkit destroys almost none of a player's items... Quote
