Any simple way to disable EE once its been implemented?

I run tekkit on my server but the new version also came with EE. Long story short, a day on the server and every moron is running around with ten thousands diamonds.

People aren't even playing any more. They don't fight or farm or mine or build. They just sit in their houses all day cooking diamonds.

Any easy way to disable it without breaking the server or the map?

What happens to all the EE items already in the game?

When you start the server up, it should just see Block/Entity IDs it doesn't know and ignore them.

At least, that's how it's worked for me in the past.

I turned it off too. I used EE once, and it just took all the fun out of Minecraft. EE takes away the need to explore. For example if you need glowstone, you don't even need to go to the nether. And once you have a bunch of collectors, you can just go AFK or sleep in a bed and you have an infinite diamond factory, and you can turn the diamond into anything, and so there is no point in doing anything interesting anymore. There's plenty of neat stuff in EE, but to me, it's fundamentally flawed. Anyone else agree?

When I set up my online server, i will disable all the EE blocks instead of the Alchemical Chest. Almost the only useful thing in this mod in my opinion-

Im in the middle of building a server, but I can tell you. I have Collectors +Transmutation + Condesors + Anything that destroys blocks disabled, I kept the rest of it for now. Alot of it doens't break the game to much and provides some cool opportunities, example... Trying building an underwater city without that cool water breathing ring, its not required but it helps encourage people to do it.

I think things like those are the job of admins, to set the environment up for players to make them able to do so.

In SSP its alright, everybody can do what he wants, but in SMP, i dont know.

I didn't get really into it, but yesterday I saw somebody on my server who made a giant tunnel just with a few clicks. <- Reason 1

And shopping systems are just unthinkable with a mod like this. I.e. nobody would ever buy glass, when he just can switch dirt into sand and smelt it by himself. <- Reason 2

Propably there are even easier ways to do things like that, but those are 2 of the main reasons why I would never ever run a serious server with EE.

mining laser

tunnel bore

cobble+macerator = sand

not saying EE doesn't provide a massive power gain after a certain point, but it's not the only mod that lets you do crazy stuff.

Sure. Buildcraft should also be handled with care. In my opinion, ICĀ² is still the most harmless of all those, so I think I leave it like it is. And well,.. Buildcraft... ... ... Is a problem :D

I think about a cordoned off area for quarries or so.. Shopping system would also be f*ckd then, but not if they wouldnt be able to craft, but be able to purchase, so theres some kinda self control over it.

But well, offtopic, nevermind.

Ontopic: EE is just a hell of a mod. Over and out :D

EDIT: Real ontopic: Certain items can be disabled in the config. Dont know how placed block behave, once they are disabled, but well... Disable EE, run the server, enable it again and edit the config like your wishes.

I believe you are wrong on this. To create glowstone dust from coal or charcoal, you need a collector. To build a collector, you need glowstone dust. It's a chicken/egg problem. The only solution is going to the nether.

But, I agree with your main points. EE greatly decreases the time that it takes to do most things, and when you combine it with IC2 and BC, it basically eliminates the need for half the stuff in those mods.

I'm working on building a castle out of diamond block right now. I'm not worried about it being stolen, because I can always make more diamond block. The time it would take to steal the diamond block is not worth the value. Technically I'm on a SMP server with Tekkit, but it feels like I'm playing on creative.

I agree, theres a point where you have 10 fully charged omegas and wonder what to do next to dominate the world.

But, for one thing the armor isnt all that powerful.. endermen still hit you and give you a lot of damage.

Is this thread still up?

Yeah I disabled EE. Lots of rage, people got over it

cobble+macerator = sand

Yeah fucking right. Like I'm going to use power to macerate cobble when there are deserts full of sand.

hey, I didn't say it was a great idea, just that it's possible. that was in response to the person saying EE made buying glass pointless because you can make sand from dirt.
