Come-Hell-Or-High-Water Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 I just downloaded the Technic pack and it works great but as a noob, there are just too many mods than I know what to do with cluttering the world. What mods should I disable to have my world like the world from the youtube videos? Thanks. Quote
DanielJin Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 Which youtube video? and what kind of game you want? A lot of people disabled thaumcraft because the taint function, some people disabled mo'creatures. And that's about it, disable other mods would ruin the experince. Quote
Come-Hell-Or-High-Water Posted August 21, 2012 Author Posted August 21, 2012 Like the Techit videos the Yogscast are doing now. Quote
DanielJin Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 Then don't disable anything, the TEKKIT pack has everything the yogscast has.(except Crafting table 3) Quote
Come-Hell-Or-High-Water Posted August 21, 2012 Author Posted August 21, 2012 Ok then. It's just that my world was a lot more cluttered than I expected. I think I will disable mo creatures, though. Thanks. Quote
DanielJin Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 Also make sure you are playing the tekkit pack, not technic. (technic is for single player, tekkit is for both) Quote
The_DarthMoogle Posted August 21, 2012 Posted August 21, 2012 Don't play Tekkit singleplayer, though. Things start breaking after a short while. Quote
The_DarthMoogle Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 What things? Well. There's a chance of - No diamonds No strongholds No mineshafts No rubber trees No rubber trees redux No volcanoes Timers breaking Chests breaking Pipes breaking Items disappearing Textures bugging Games crashing And a partridge in a pear tree. NightKev Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 Wtf? Why would everything just break like that? Quote
Sayshal Posted August 22, 2012 Posted August 22, 2012 *Noob question incoming* Is there a way to disable taint, but keep thaumcraft? Why, you probably won't ask? Because I want to use a world my friend made but he uses some thaumcraft stuff for decorative reasons. I don't want taint, or vis, or whatever the fuck thaumcraft does, but I want the blocks. Probably not possible. /high-jacked thread Quote

Though it is possible to disable natural taint spawn in the config, note that taint will still occur if the taint level is high enough. Quote
joe5 Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 are you sure that those glitches are related to playing tekkit in single player? I only use tekkit for single player and I have never had any of those issues. Quote

You do that + increase the taint threshold if I recall right, making it all but disabled. Not sure if there is a combination that does literally stop it myself. Quote
