Baldursgate3
Timeout+Crash So basically this problem started 1 week ago. Whenever i leave server online for hour or 2, server just crashes. I removed my world, plugins and even re installed Tekkit, but still this problem appear. I'm not exactly sure what's the problem. My plugins are: Animalprotect AntiXray autosaveworld Biomedit Bspace Forester World edit/guard LWC Nameset Reforestation Reporter Safe creeper Plgsetspawn XAuth Last lines before server crashes are: 2012-10-17 02:12:06 [iNFO] Connection reset 2012-10-17 06:13:08 [iNFO] Connection reset 2012-10-17 06:13:28 [iNFO] Connection reset 2012-10-17 06:20:24 [iNFO] Connection reset 2012-10-17 06:20:24 [iNFO] Connection reset 2012-10-17 10:14:22 [iNFO] Connection reset 2012-10-17 12:21:25 [iNFO] Read timed out 2012-10-17 12:53:42 [iNFO] Connection reset
DXWarlock
Can you give more info? server stats like ram/CPU...ram usage at the time of the read timeouts, CPU usage at that time. Bandwidth limit, an its usage? We can narrow down whats causing it.

JRNetwork
I also got this with a pretty powerful machine too.
greedseed
CPU-6ghz 6 Cores CPU Holy shit you run your CPU on LN2 day in day out ? Also look at your upload speeds and confrim the difference between Mb and MB 1Mb = 0.125MB

Also look at your upload speeds and confrim the difference between Mb and MB 1Mb = 0.125MB No, I made my own custom CPU Socket. It can use 1-8 Cores All of my cores are I-7 __________________ Overclocked __________________
greedseed
what are you even talking about ! No, I made my own custom CPU Socket. Ofc like your CPU will fit in a home made socket. and why would you even do that since you gain nothing out of making it ! Do you even know what a CPU socket is ? Let me explain. It can use 1-8 Cores yup yup only amd has actual 8Core CPU's Intel has max ( in the I7 base ) 6Cores with each 2 threads to a total of 12 Threads All of my cores are I-7 yup yup 8 core I7 i think you are on crack The highest I7 is the I7-990X __________________ Overclocked __________________ Overclocked ? to get a fu 3,5ghz cpu with is about as high as they get stock. you need Dry ice, LN2 or dam good phase change boy! Take it from me, i am a overclocker and computer modder i know what i am talking about!

Baldursgate3
I overclocked them.... Maybe because I'm using very powerful coolant?
Baldursgate3
It's kinda a waste of money. The server only uses about 10% of CPU.

Baldursgate3
Can we just get on with the problem? I Dont think my hardware is the actual problem.
DXWarlock
Well it MIGHT be part of the problem, if what you say is true...and you got a machine overclocked up near where competition overclocks can barely get to with liquid nitrogen..and run it 24-7 that COULD be a problem (but I see the '6ghz' as a ' made up number to compensate for people assuming it might be under powered). Whats your actual upload speed? usually when I had it home hosting..it was caused when I was capping out my network with 40 other things, and people was timing out. you can test it here http://www.speedtest.net/
greedseed
6Ghz is bullshit if i may be so blunt. 6Ghz is nearing LN2 cooling. Even watercooling wont be able to pull this 24/7 And Phase change MIGHT be barely keeping up with the amount of heat you produce but even then 24/7 is retarded since the phase change unit uses as much power as 3 PC's i still dont think you get it. let me say it again. Overclocking and PC modding is what i do. This is what I do! so i KNOW for a FACT that running a CPU on 6Ghz as a server 24/7 is utter bullcrap So you stating that you run on 6Ghz. No way tell the truth so we can MAYBE still help you !
DXWarlock
Thats why I keep asking..not so much to 'point out his specs cant be'. But more a "tell us what they really are, and we can help you more.." Since assuming the 6ghz isn't true, we have no idea if the 16g ram is, or the core count. We cant help you find the weak point/problem if you gives up false info on things that might be part of the problem Think of it like this..you call a mechanic wanting to know why your car overheats while towing your party boat..he asks what size engine you have..you tell him "A supercharged, turbo v8 diesel big block"..when its a "4 cylinder Honda economy motor"..and he cant troubleshoot it for you to help you figure out why. theprolo
I'm just gonna point out here that Read Timed Out is usually when the client crashes/loses connection to the server, hence the Connection Reset messages. Either something is causing a huge crippling lagspike or your Internet connection is crashing. The Read Timed Out is just the error message and is actually very vague on the cause of the problem. greedseed
Nop. "To get the record, a team of "elite overclocking specialists" cranked up the juice on an 8-core desktop CPU until hitting a speed of 8.429GHz" DERP! sorry but you DERP! That is AMD platform that is NOT Intel ! INTEL record is 7.1 ON IVY BRIDGE we had it about you claiming to have 8Core Intel I7 on 6ghz (5.8 restatement) on AIR COOLING witch is still utterly not possible! you would fry your cpu in seconds since there is no air cooler that can handle that amount of heat output. Not even the CM V10 'tis possible. Note that I'm not saying it's likely in this case, or what I'd consider "safe". The only reason that guy had that is since he is using a very stable chipset, got a gold batch CPU with are extremely hard to find or very expensive to buy second hand and he had a AC constantly blowing into his System. and still this is not hitting the so claimed 5.8Ghz Edit: The guy itself stated that it is EXTREMELY unstable. http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?264003-Gigabyte-GA-P67A-UD5-Discussion-Thread&p=4712082&viewfull=1#post4712082 He could run a official size SuperPI on it
theprolo
Then it's a huge crippling lag spike, probably caused by either something huge happening to your computer or server. Is there any way to track CPU usage at the time of the crash? Like I said, it's a very vague problem, but perhaps there is a way to work out if its something on the server or on your computer. Did anything in particular happen just before this every time?
