Craftpackets always crash

Title: Craftpackets always crash

Version: 0.5.1

OS: Windows 7 64 bit

Java Version: 7 update 10, 64 bit

Description of Problem:

When attempting to use craftpacket maker as soon as i place the items in to begin crafting the packet it crashes the game, this also crashes our small group server. Upon re-entering the game it spawns an item called "autoarchic gate" where the packet would normally be spawned. It also crashed attempting to create diamond shards in a craftpacket stamper. I assembled the packet that makes diamond shards(though it does not create the correct item, it creates something called "item.pipegateautoarchic.255"), and when placing that into the stamper crashed our group server. Since the server crashed i have also lost all ability to place blocks, open chests, furnaces, generators, etc even though i have been given the ability to do so, even given "OP status" or whatever that is called. My character was also forcefully deleted from the server yet i still cannot place blocks or open things(not even doors) upon restarting. I have even gone so far as to delete the .techniclauncher folder and redownload the files using the tekkit launcher. Still no luck.

You have added factorization to Tekkit, but how exactly? Have you installed a craftbukkit version in the server mod files? If you haven't got a fully compatible server mod of Factorization, it simply won't work.

I am having the exact same problem as kilsyoumore stated. I tried the same steps as they did and to no avail the server still crashes. I am using the version of Factorization that shipped with Tekkit Lite(v0.7.10).

Tekkit Lite is 1.4.6, and therefore I don't think it is compatible with the 1.2.5 build for Tekkit Classic. Sorry, but you might have to do without.

Well I am running the tekkit lite official launcher straight from the technic site, and the server is simply running the lite server launcher from the site as well. So there should not be any incompatibilities. It seems to simply be that those items do not craft properly and those machines do not work properly. Is this because the tekkit lite launchers do not properly add the factorization mod and we would need to specifically add those files to run those portions of the game? Seems silly they would be included in the launcher but break the game when used without additional mods added.

I have the same problem, with the Factorization version from de official Lite pack.

Note: 2 extra mods are running perfectly: PortalGun, Custom NPCs (latest versions for 1.4.6/1.4.7).

If this is a problem you have with Tekkit Lite, you should post this in the official Tekkit Lite forums and ask there. A workaround to this would be use the new Custom ZIP feature on the Technic Launcher, and input the URL for Factorization. When you log on, it should add Factorization straight away, and this will fix the problem if Factorization won't install properly.

HAHA lol I got confused. I'm trying to solve too many problems at once. Yes, this is in the official Tekkit Lite forums. Please ignore all I have said up to this point. Obviously, Factorization is broken in some way. Yes, you will have to manually add Factorization yourself. Either use the Custom ZIP tool to add it (remember to delete it first), or download and manually add it yourself.

Would this need to be server side, client side or both do you think? Also could you be a tid bit more detailed about how to get it working beyond just using a zip tool? Would we need to get it from the official factorization site, how would we go about adding these files to the server if needed etc? I am not too suave at how to mod minecraft personally but am a big fan of the tekkit mods.

It is an ID conflict, not a problem with factorization. So it a bug with tekkit lite as a modpack, not buildcraft or factorization

  • FTB is using the same version as Tekkit Lite and does not have this problem
  • I found in the config there are 2 ids that are the same.

EDIT: More info:

It seems like the following lines from Factorisation's config


    I:bagOfHolding=19001

    I:itemCraftId=19000


are the same ids as the following in buildcraft's config


    I:pipeFacade.id=19001

    I:pipeGateAutarchic.id=19000

which causes an ID conflict and therefore weird behaviour.

Note: Actual IDs = <ids in config file> + 256

Sorry but i am not completely sure what this means and i responded in the general diamond shards thead as well, could you elaborate on what an ID conflict means, how to solve it etc? We are all using the official tekkit lite server/client installs. Upon further reading of your post it seems that there are multiple items with the same ID, is this what you term as ID conflict? If so how can this be fixed, and is this simply a problem with the mod pack?

It means the game itself is trying to use the same ID for two different items.

Somewhat Related, but not sure if helpful (sorry, it just sprang to mind)

For single player games, change one lot of ids to something else. So those two lines

    I:bagOfHolding=19001

    I:itemCraftId=19000

 


change to


    I:bagOfHolding=9001

    I:itemCraftId=9000

However it will mean you will have ID mismatches between your client and servers (if they don't change it, or change it to a different value than you have). An update to tekkit lite is the proper way to fix it, as they will change it to a set value that everyone will have. A slightly less major but official way to do it is for there to be an official value of the new ids, but will mean even noobs have to mess around with IDs instead of just play.

EDIT: Relied on NEI id dump, which did not work properly.

That worked better that what i did. Educated observation: I did notice that factorization has 2 things taking up 19000-1 (19256-7) So when i moved factorization's ids it still conflicted with something factorization left behind, i think. IDResolve labeled it "the Core" and that's it.

But, all in all, that fixed my situation. thx Portablejim.
