RadioHasNoFuture Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 hello, while scrolling down the whalebox i saw someone getting certain points as punishment. so how does that work? do yoyu need a specific amound of points to get banned/kellered? and i was wondering how close id be to any punishment at all. ya know, just to make me feel good.
RadioHasNoFuture Posted February 12, 2013 Author Posted February 12, 2013 the post from the whalebox i mentioned
Torezu Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 Summary of points system: By default, you get 1 for little stuff like signatures, bumps, or low effort posts, 2 for wrong section, misusing Report, or not following server post format, 3 for not following bug report format or spam/advertising without permission, 6 for posting a mod pack bug in the launcher section or vice versa (we got really sick of that), and 12 if you need a banning. We can always change these numbers or their expiration dates if people need more or less points or time. You need 3 for keller, 6 for 3-day ban, 9 for (I think) 1-week ban, 12 for 2-week or perm-ban, depending on whether an expiration date is set or not. You, in particular, currently have none active, because yours expired 6 months ago.
Moderators Munaus Posted February 13, 2013 Moderators Posted February 13, 2013 How do you guys judge the P.A.I.N.S then? Cheap did mention once he would make the loosing team suffer.. not sure if he was trolling... In the last P.A.I.N.S one of the opponents got banned, due to poor participation and multiple accounts-creation. In the first, Volgarenthor got.... well he didn't get any punishment. But what if, let's say me, gets dragged in a fight against a logically smarter and verbally enormous opponent. And I loose. Would I face permbanning due to my criminal records of the past? Not saying I wanna start a P.A.I.N.S, I'm just wondering how you guys judge a fight.... It seems to me it's a mere coin toss whether the loosing team will face punishment or not, depending if he broke any rules or missbehaved.

LazDude2012 Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 So, is there a way to see my points history?
Torezu Posted February 13, 2013 Posted February 13, 2013 So, is there a way to see my points history? Yes. You didn't ask if there was a way for you to see it. All yours are expired, the last ones mid-December.
RadioHasNoFuture Posted February 13, 2013 Author Posted February 13, 2013 perhaps cheap/kaker could add it.
okamikk Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 perhaps cheap/kaker could add it. this has already been discussed several times, the answer will most likely continue to be no.
Torezu Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 perhaps cheap/kaker could add it. It would be more sct's or possibly IceWolf's domain, since it's site management we're talking about. this has already been discussed several times, the answer will most likely continue to be no. Who knows? It's really not necessary, I don't think. Someone's usually aware if/when they broke a rule, and really aware if they broke enough rules to get kellered/banned.
JakeVH Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 Wait, so do people actually get notified for infraction points? I thought I saw people complaining about not knowing, but now I don't know. It would be nice to be able to check how many points you have, but I haven't had a problem with it yet.

In the meantime, most warnings have an auto-conversation-message that goes with them. Some of them are amusing.

Hm, I did get a message, now that you mention it. I think there's... Like two more weeks until my point expires.
