Error parsing platform response

I'm suddenly getting this message whenever I try to type in the Platform delivery URL to add a new pack. It's been fine up until this morning, but now I get this message every time I try.

I've tried restarting, reinstalling the launcher, trying different modpacks (like "Big Dig Pack") with the same result. I'm copying and pasting directly.

Anyone know what's causing this?

im actually getting the same error message when trying to get different modpacks to install. i dont know what to do as to fixing it.

Getting this error too.

I would post my error log, but its freakishly huge for a text file, and is too large to post, and yes I just tried.

If someone would be willing to render aid, it would be much appriciated.

I've had a few instances where it works again, but mostly I just get the error message.

From the looks of it, this may be a load issue. Xenotashin, is it happening every time, or will it sometimes work and sometimes not, like Skrir described?

seems to be everytime for me. The only time it worked was when I first downloaded the platform and before I signed in.

I tried making a clean install but that did nothing to improve the situation.

Having the same issue, error pops up as soon as I paste the URL as well. Happens every time.

I am not sure what is going on with the launcher but each time I try to doesnt load a new mod pack it just shows me Error parsing platform resonse

Anyway this is happening since today. I tried the new launcher in 3 different PC and OS is not problem (tried it on Win 7 and 8)

I guess it is a general problem of the launcher.

yeah my friend who just downloaded the new launcher is having the problem too, and now that I think about it it was around midnight in US Central time on 3/5/13-3/6/13 when it stopped working.

I get the same thing. But I opened up the platform's console through the gear/settings icon in the top right corner of the screen before i pasted the url. It looked like an error exactly the same but what i did notice was when i scrolled to the bottom of it a few lines before it said there were "90 more..." it said something about it getting a 403 error when trying to get to the files location for the modpack. So I copied the platform url and went to it in my browser and found the link it uses to get the modpack (it looked like this: "url":"https:\/\/dl.dropbox.com\/s\/wsmrdrg7w6snnsx\/techitup.zip) I followed this link without the "\s" otherwise it wouldn't follow and I was able to download the zip file with all of the mods and the texturepack and everything that it needs to install. and just install it into a normal minecraft or into your vanilla in the technic launcher. Try to see if you can do the same.

No mod packs work as of right now 1/100 times when trying to add them. It's getting really irritating. Especially considering I'm trying to make my own mod pack work and can't because I can't add it to see if it's working.

I've found a fix for this problem, it seems silly but for some reason the launcher can only parse URLs that include "www." which the URLs in "Platform URL" bars do not include. Add it manually after pasting and you're good.

I've found a fix for this problem, it seems silly but for some reason the launcher can only parse URLs that include "www." which the URLs in "Platform URL" bars do not include. Add it manually after pasting and you're good.

So you mean, for example, rather than http://technicpack.net/api/modpack/blabla, I would use http://www.technicpack.net/api/modpack/blala?

With respect to build 198, it's the beta and personally I like to stick to the stable builds, less surprises down the road, you see.

For xample your link is http://domain.com/mymodpack.zip

and your technic link is: http://technicpack.net/api/modpack/mymodpack

What you ahve to do is add www. to the technic link:

http://www.technicpack.net/api/modpack/mymodpack
