Thunderclaw5 Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 So, i made my own modpack EXACTLY how the tutorial said to. The launcher downloaded everything correctly, but when i went in game, nothing in the modpack.jar was installed. Help?
Lapito Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 Try clicking on the onfig under your modpack logo, then click reset pack, then launch again.
Lapito Posted March 11, 2013 Posted March 11, 2013 Nope. Still 100% vanilla So, I think you did something wrong.
Niavmai Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 What could have i done? You put it in the /bin/ folder, right? Other than that, it could be a malformed jar.
Thunderclaw5 Posted March 12, 2013 Author Posted March 12, 2013 yep. And i tried using voltz's modpack.jar, and it did the same thing. And i got to looking, and the .zip file with everything is in the temp folder.
Gee_Wisz Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 So, i made my own modpack EXACTLY how the tutorial said to. The launcher downloaded everything correctly, but when i went in game, nothing in the modpack.jar was installed. Help? All your folders are set up correctly and it isn't downloading correctly? Are you using Dropbox, by any chance?
Gee_Wisz Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 When you clicked the "share link" button right click the "download" button for the file and hit "copy link location"? I made that mistake my first time around, and it would only download as vanilla.
Teraku Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 Did you put the zip in your Public folder? As in, the folder named "Public", not any other folder? Because it needs to be in your Public folder, you should then get an option called "Copy Public Link". It will NOT work correctly if you don't put it in your Public folder.
Teraku Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 Then make one. Make a new folder in your Dropbox's root called "Public", and drop the zip in there.
andrewdonshik Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 Uh. I don't have it in a public folder and it works fine. Public folders are unnecessary.
theprolo Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 Public folders got removed. You just use Share Link now.
icegrx Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 make sure your modpack.jar isnt modpack.jar.zip, also make sure the link you are supplying to the zip file is a direct download.. to check this paste the URL into a web browser, it should automatically start downloading.
Thunderclaw5 Posted March 16, 2013 Author Posted March 16, 2013 ^^ When i click share, it wants me to add recipients to share it with ^its defiantly a modpack.jar and i have the direct link
Niavmai Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 ^^ When i click share, it wants me to add recipients to share it with ^its defiantly a modpack.jar and i have the direct link Just to make sure, you're not putting the direct link in the launcher, right?
Thunderclaw5 Posted March 16, 2013 Author Posted March 16, 2013 i"m putting the platform URL into the launcher
Niavmai Posted March 16, 2013 Posted March 16, 2013 i"m putting the platform URL into the launcher The url that the platform tells you to use? Or the url of the page that your pack is on?
Thunderclaw5 Posted March 16, 2013 Author Posted March 16, 2013 I click the little copy button that it says to use
NicholasArdens Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 It doesn't seem to unpack properly when it downloads, it's currently in my temp folder as a zip so yeah.
