Ugarte
Just came back to Minecraft after a long break and now I'm looking into this new Tekkit pack. The space gameplay looks really neat, definitely a good goal to work towards. I'm just a bit skeptical about the list of items being cut from, say about 50 pages to 25, from Tekkit Lite to this one. I haven't looked at this pack in depth yet, but from what I can tell, farming has suffered. I know some of the people I played with were a big fan of cross-breeding crosp and the like. Does this tekkit pack have any farm-related content?
Teraku
I think the main reason for less items is because all those Microblocks now no longer clog up the list. Also, IC2 had a lot of items. Look into MineFactory Reloaded. It's not the kind of farming IC2 was, but it does expand farming a bit.
Magicthize
Yeah it's all just automation of existing crops. The only new plant is the Rubber tree which is added in Minefactory reloaded.
cerevox
Yes, the item list wasn't actually cut, the microblocks are just hidden now, because they were literally 25+ pages on their own. I have heard rumors, whispered of in darks alleys and back corners, that the devs looked at, or are looking at, the natura mod which adds a ton of plants and such for those who like farming. No idea if it will actually make it in though. Just rumors, like I said, but would be awesome if we did get more plants and such.
Magicthize
Oh I kind of hope so. I like when there's a legitimate reason to dedicate a large swathe of land to farming other than because it looks cool. I really miss flax from IC2 (mainly cuz it saved me from having to farm spiders and spiders webs).
iPSY
Only way to make a really fully automated farm is with MineFactory reloaded right ? Because the tutorials I find its like 99% Minecraft, 1% Tekkit.
Teraku
Depends on what kind of farm. Sugar Cane, Pumpkin and Melon farms are easily able to be automated in Vanilla, but not Tree, Wheat, Potato or Carrot farms.

iPSY
I kinda skiped Steve's Carts, a bit confusing for me, that and ComputerCraft. And making an automated Tree, Wheat, Potato or Carrot farms are super easy using MineFactory since they actually give me the machines for it
