jkf1209
I've played a lot of Tekkit Classic and relied mainly on Energy Condensers and EMC Farms to generate materials for my projects. I just started playing the new Tekkit and have yet to find a suitable resource gathering mechanic, the only viable platforms I've found have been Quarries and Mining Turtles and they are too slow/inefficient for my liking. So, are there any good Automated Mining solutions in this new Tekkit?
theprolo
Quarries can be easily sped up just by adding extra power. While they may seem inefficient at first, you'd be surprised at the gain if you take the time to set up a reasonably powerful and sustainable system to power it. If you're worried about damage to the landscape, build them underground.
Teraku
Yeah, I always build them underground. Spares the landscape a bit.
Dash16
I just use a BC Filler to fill the empty hole with cobble and dirt. Helps to keep down the hundreds of thousands of cobble I offload to a DSU.

jakalth
Agree, Mystcraft. make a sacrificial age and mine to your hearts content there. When it's all full of holes from the quarry, just make a new age. btw: Quarries can take over 50MJ/tick now. They mine quite quickly if given enough power.
