Super evil spyware host

I clicked on the big download button and it installed about 7 spyware programs.

AVOID technicpack.

Either your connection got hyjacked when trying to connect to technicpack or your antivirus, like mine, thinks the launcher and packs are some type of trojan(over zealous security software) when they are not. Was the site link simply technicpack.net? If not, the hyjacked connection seems the most likely.

I've never had a problem nor have i known anyone else to have this problem. You probably clicked on an ad and are now regretting it.

Well, I'll make sure to avoid downloading technicpack, but my guess is Technic Launcher is still fine to download?

It was an Ad... It probably sent you to one of those "AdBuzz" Pages where it says "Select your country, select your OS, click download" right? Well at the top right of that page there's a button that says SKIP AD. I fell for it once, but if you had been paying attention to the name of the software it wanted you to download you'll see that it clearly wasn't Technic

Google adsense is giving those out. https://support.google.com/adsense/troubleshooter/1631343?hl=en

They let some of bad ads slip through it seems. I see the same ones on minecraftforums.net and msn.com even (rare).
