Millan Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 Is there any way in the B-Team modpack to use the steam turbine? I can't find a way to produce steam to pump into it.
Kr0nZ Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Im pretty sure you need either factorization or railcraft installed to produce steam. Either of which be a great addition to the modpack!!!
Brigadon Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 Factorization I could see, but railcraft doesn't really fit the 'theme' of the mod, evil mad scientist, very well. Sure it's steampunky and the lamps are totally appropos, but it interferes with SO much stuff.
garthrs Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 You don't feed it steam. You feed it water. I have found that 4 Aqueous accumulators keep it full while operating. Still learning what I can do with it max load wise. Hope that helped!

Loader Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 This is an old thread, soon you'll need steam, and in some situations you'll indeed need 4 - most of the time 2 is fine but on occasion especially if you travel away a lot you'll find it runs out with only 2 per turbine, it's probably a rounding error. 2 per machine and an additional 2 to offset that seems to work fine going through pipes, but I found just 2 each wasn't quite enough to avoid whatever that running out of water thing was. It's possible that this was just a bug that's been fixed in the last month+ though.
Roversword Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 So, as soon as the water approach does not work anymore and you actually need steam, those turbines are useless. This is what I get from the thread so far....
Kalbintion Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 That is indeed correct. You will need to rely on any of the dynamos, solar panels, or other means to generate power. Steam Dynamos are a great alternative for power however as using it with a tree farm can create an infinite power system but the output will be low to begin with until it is expanded upon.
czzarr Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 a reactant dynamo setup with a large slime autospawner grinding into the smaller slimes would be a great alternative as well. Along with a blaze autospawner, and you will be rolling in both mob essence and power, not to mention a lifetime supply of slimeballs and blaze powder/blaze rods. go the idea from a guy named JSIT on youtube.
Kalbintion Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 I believe generikb actually used JSIT's set-up with a slight modification in his latest "I GOT THE POWAH" video.
Loader Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 It's kinda hinted at by what's said in here and this topics age, but bonus points for searching at least The steam turbine now takes steam, and there's no source of steam in B-Team at present (1.0.10b at the time of this post). It won't work with just water. The steam dynamo performs essentially the same task only it generates and uses its steam internally rather than needing it to be fed in like the turbine does.
Bob Mc Bob Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 It doesn't work. Simple as that. Maybe in the future, MFR developers will underp this derp and make a machine that turns water into steam. Until then, have fun with your 500 useless turbines.
