I don't want all these items!!!!

Ok,This might be an obvious fix but I'm new to the world of mods and I don't know where to look or even what to look for to get an answer for this problem so please help me. I'm playing a single player world and any time I click on an item in the list next to the crafting window it gives me a stack of said item. All i want is the recipe to the item not the item itself. Otherwise I'd be playing in creative. Can anyone tell me how to get it to stop giving me items and just show me the crafting recipes?

Open up your inventory, hit "Options" from the bottom left and there you choose "Inventory". In this menu you can switch between cheat and recipe mode. Recipe mode's the one your looking for.

You know I went through all of those tabs last night and the two buttons at the top of that page were the only things I didn't press. Thanks a ton. I'm really excited to finally get into the mod pack now.

You could also hover your mouse over the item and hit "R" for the crafting recipe or "U" to see what recipes it's used in.
