Error downloading from the Technic application (ModPacks)

It's very frustrating when an application simply doesn't work.

Specifically, adding a mod pack, regardless of the pack I am trying to add, errors with a download error EVERY TIME. If I to the link directly, I can download the file. But I am not certain how to load the mod pack at that point.

I see people/forum mods and others on here asking for money and donations. Well...I am happy to donate when something works. But I have tried helping my sone load 5 different mods today and they ALL "Failed to download http://URL"

IN this case:  http://www.mediafire.com/?zj3kcjdmkk331w4 (this is for the mod pack "Clay Soldiers".  It's obvious the mod pack exists on the Tchnic website, because when adding it is validated.  Same with the RPG modpack I was trying to add and another Jurassic modpack I was trying to add.  They ALL fail...

It would be nice if this stuff actually worked...and I didn't have to waste my day on a basic internet download principle, that EVERYONE in the world understands, except Technic mod pack creators....

Anybody have ideas?  And, if you say, "Check your internet connection" I will simply get irritated....I am posting this message....

It would be nice if people took their time to notice we have something called Bug Reports, where we ask all people to post a report so we can find the issue.

You are a little confused it seems. Platform is an index, it showcases modpacks that other people brings forth. Saying that these packs are Technics is kinda like saying Google owns porn. Which it certainly does not

Nobody is asking you for anything. Where did you get this from?

Do you want me to make 5 bug reports for you?  I obviously hurt your feelings a little, so I want to make sure you get what you want.

A platform should "function" if ti is going to allow the things people bring "forth"  If the platform ALLOWS the mod pack to be indexed/referenced, then it SHOULD download.  Technic should have an obligation to ensure this.

There are 6 different download errors on every mod pack I have tried adding.  Are you saying this is the URL to each of these "packs" and not something with the "PLatform"?  (I build "platforms for a living....pretty sure I know what they are....MINE ACTUALLY WORK)

So the big DONATE/Menu Bar buttons don't mean what most mean? (donate!)  It's a way to ASK for things...and since I am on the site, the donate button would indicate you're asking ME!

Also...Thanks for actually NOT helping with the question....

Why do none of the modpacks actually work when they appear to be referenced properly within the platform?

Antivirus, Webproxy, malware, firewall or missing IPv4 support. These are things that people have in their computer that prevents the launcher to work properly.

When custom modpacks are concerned I usually point people to the custom modpack creators, who are not part of Technic staff.

If all custom modpack fails to download or install, that means something on your computer is causing it.

So when you feel you are done letting that steam off, please post in Bug Reports in launcher subsection.

how does any of that even relate to tekkit in the first place? I can confirm when it says check your internet, check it, all the mod packs that are in the tekkit launcher are downloading properly including my own.

have you verified your running the latest launcher? http://www.technicpack.net/download

are you running java 64 bit? http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp

Straight up insulting the people providing these services will NOT get you quality results. This post is like yelling at a cashier in a fast food joint only to get a spit burger with cheese.

meh, bad analogy. Spitting into another person's food is a felony (and really, let's NOT act like this is okay). Being annoyed at someone yelling at us is not. Let's not go commit a felony eh?

First off, I don't support spitting in food, lol, it's disgusting. But it does happen, and I don't think it was a bad analogy. Basically I was just saying that claiming: "EVERYONE in the world understands, except Technic mod pack creators" when trying to get help is like going up to a fast food worker, calling them stupid and then asking them to make you your food. You get treated the way you treat others.
