Ok so I downloaded Technic, signed in, and was ready to play with my friends and all that Jazz. So for a Test, I hit play for normal minecraft. After a minute or two of downloading things. I got a error saying,

 

" Error downloading file for the following pack: Vanilla

 

Failed to download http://recources.download.minecraft.net/ad/ad97cf18899a1ab1e0ec264d41f2719a14a1566f

 

Please consult the modpack author."

I have the logs

Have you tried going to the Application Support or Appdata whatever it might be and deleting the Technic folder? Then re-downloading the program and trying again?

same thing has happened with me when I try and download tekkit, says need to consult the modpack author, any advice?

Can you give me your java version? You can do this by going to your command prompt and typing "java -version". This will better help me to diagnose the problem.
