nova_bladius
Hi, I have set up a new tekkit server for me and some friends. It was purchased from a minecraft server provider. All my friends (6 or so accounts) have been able to join the server and have had no issue with it. However, whenever I attempt to connect I am unable and I'm faced with several, random errors. I say random as I have searched what they mean and they seem irrelevant. I asked my server provider for assistance, thought their help desk, but they hae been unable to assist me. I'll drop all the data I provided him with here and hopefully someone can help! **Random errors: -Bad packet ID *various numbers* -Bad compressed data format -Invalid operation -NegativeArraySizeException -String lenght is less than zero! Weird string! (I have screenshot if required) **Various server Ping test data from my computer: Pinging Server: "Pinging 213.239.204.109 with 32 bytes of data: Reply from 213.239.204.109: bytes=32 time=34ms TTL=51 Reply from 213.239.204.109: bytes=32 time=34ms TTL=51 Reply from 213.239.204.109: bytes=32 time=33ms TTL=51 Reply from 213.239.204.109: bytes=32 time=38ms TTL=51 Ping statistics for 213.239.204.109: Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss), Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds: Minimum = 33ms, Maximum = 38ms, Average = 34ms" Tracing: "Tracing route to static.213-239-204-109.clients.your-server.de [213.239.204.109] over a maximum of 30 hops: 1 7 ms 7 ms 6 ms 10.93.144.1 2 7 ms 7 ms 7 ms bagu-core-2b-xe-132-0.network.virginmedia.net [8 0.5.167.253] 3 17 ms 9 ms 10 ms leed-bb-1b-ae7-0.network.virginmedia.net [80.5.1 61.245] 4 18 ms 16 ms 17 ms leed-bb-2a-ae2-0.network.virginmedia.net [62.254 .42.121] 5 18 ms 18 ms 15 ms nrth-bb-2a-ae1-0.network.virginmedia.net [62.254 .42.54] 6 13 ms 16 ms 22 ms nrth-bb-1c-ae0-0.network.virginmedia.net [62.254 .42.134] 7 15 ms 17 ms 15 ms nrth-tmr-1-ae1-0.network.virginmedia.net [213.10 5.159.30] 8 31 ms 28 ms 29 ms fran-ic-1-as0-0.network.virginmedia.net [62.253. 185.81] 9 29 ms 30 ms 32 ms decix-gw.hetzner.de [80.81.192.164] 10 30 ms 29 ms 30 ms core1.hetzner.de [213.239.245.6] 11 35 ms 36 ms 35 ms core21.hetzner.de [213.239.245.217] 12 34 ms 35 ms 33 ms juniper1.rz13.hetzner.de [213.239.245.82] 13 37 ms 36 ms 35 ms hos-tr1.ex3k8.rz13.hetzner.de [213.239.224.9] 14 33 ms 33 ms 34 ms static.213-239-204-109.clients.your-server.de [2 13.239.204.109] Trace complete." **other info: - My account IS legitimate. I sign in with my email adress, as I have a Mojang account. - I tried different minecraft accounts on my computer and one connected (fell though ground and errored instantly), but others gave the same errors - my technic launcher and tekkit are up-to-date - I have more than the required amount of RAM to handle a tekkit server. - My account worked fine on my girlfriend's computer - I have two people connecting from my router, they have had no issues. - I have tested with all anti-virus and firewall software turned off If anyone could help me I'd be extremly grateful, it's annoying paying for a server I can't play on! Curunir
Check if you are actually doing the same thing your friends are doing (who are able to connect). If all else fails, delete the launcher with all local data and reinstall it clean, i.e. manually remove the directory to make sure no old files are sticking around. Do the same for Java if that does not help.
nova_bladius
Hi, thanks for the suggestion. I've already tried all of that but I did it again anyway, but to no avail. Edited May 25, 2014 by nova_bladius
efflandt
If you have a 64-bit OS are you sure that you are using 64-bit Java? For example the default Internet Explorer in Win7 is 32-bit, so the Java website only automatically installs 32-bit Java. 64-bit Java needs to be manually installed. Otherwise if you added or changed RAM in your PC, maybe it is not quite compatible. Burn a memtest86+ CD and run that overnight to see if you get any memory errors. http://www.memtest.org/

nova_bladius
Yeah my Java is 64-bit and I haven't changed any of my computer since I built it. I haven't had any issues with it. A list of errors (Iike I mentioned in the OP, I have read up on these errors and they seem entierly random): Edited May 26, 2014 by nova_bladius
Moderators Munaus Posted May 26, 2014 Moderators Share Posted May 26, 2014 Please use the Tracker for posting issues. And always include the logs when making bug reports Error logs can be found when clicking the Cog-Wheel button on the top right corner on the launcher window. If you can't open the launcher the logs can also be found inside %appdata% -> Roaming -> .technic -> logs Paste the content on pastebin.com or paste.ubuntu.com and give the link.
