Soft_Squishy Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 Hello, I tried to add the mod: Web Displays to my mod pack but it doesn't work without adding the libraries, I tried it on the my normal forge client and it worked, but when I tried to install it to the mod pack folder on technic it says that there are no profiles there, so I'm just asking how will i put the installment into the pack? Discord Moderator plowmanplow Posted May 28, 2014 Discord Moderator Posted May 28, 2014 The author goes into detailed manual installation instructions right in the post you linked. That being said, you are going to shoot yourself in the foot if you try to do this. The WebDisplays mod requires the client be using 32bit Java. Nobody in their right mind would be using 32bit Java for Forge/MC if they had another option, especially with a pack the size of yours. Add to that the fact that I'm not even sure you CAN (easily) change the Launcher to force 32bit Java. This might be a non-starter.
Moderators Munaus Posted May 28, 2014 Moderators Posted May 28, 2014 haha what? a mod that demands a 32-bit? That's a first!
Soft_Squishy Posted May 28, 2014 Author Posted May 28, 2014 (edited) If you scroll down to the part where it says "Next Update", the coming update will support 64-bit so, yeah :I Edited May 29, 2014 by Soft_Squishy
Discord Moderator plowmanplow Posted May 28, 2014 Discord Moderator Posted May 28, 2014 @Soft_Squishy: You can't be critical of folks who have offered you legitimate input or help without coming across as a bit pretentious. The mod you have referenced is not ready for "prime time" if the author can't get the whole bit depth independence thing figured out. "Next Update" sometimes means next week. Sometimes it ends up being "never". Good luck in your (solo) quest.
Soft_Squishy Posted May 28, 2014 Author Posted May 28, 2014 Critical? Why would I even be critical on people that I don't know? I'm Just telling you guys that there should be a new update for the mod, and if so the mod wouldn't have to oblige the clients to use 32-bit java. So, all I'm asking is how to install the libraries into a compressed modpack .zip PS: This modpack is just for me and my friends, it's a private one.
Neowulf Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 If you weren't trying to be critical, why did you tell plow and munaus to stop posting worthless replies?

Soft_Squishy Posted May 29, 2014 Author Posted May 29, 2014 What if the mod finally supported 64-bit? How will I install it's libraries? That's all what I need to know.
disconsented Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 Mods dont support 64bit unless they are specifically programmed for it
Soft_Squishy Posted May 29, 2014 Author Posted May 29, 2014 say I wanted to add voxel menu for example, where should i put the libraries before extraction?
Neowulf Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 Wherever the install instruction claim they need to go in your minecraft directory, you need to do the exact same in the zip. The launcher just overlays the zip onto the clean minecraft install it creates.
Neowulf Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 Just to be clear, that mod is a horrible idea for any public pack/server. The ability to cause arbitrary page load on any connected player's client is just asking for trouble. Anything from rickrolling on repeat to forcing google searches for things guaranteed to get the household added to a government watch list (or in some countries, arrest and execution).
Soft_Squishy Posted June 1, 2014 Author Posted June 1, 2014 This is not going to be public, it's just for me and my friends.
Neowulf Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Little late since you posted the pack link publicly at the start of this thread...
