does reactor remote thermometer bug still exsist?

I'm trying to find out if I can build a reactor and use nuke controls or does tekkit still crash if I do? I thought there was a patch/repair for it does anyone have any info I tried searching for it and have found nothing? maybe it's been fixed but the last time (2 years ago?) I played tekkit I kept crashing the server if I tried to use a remote thermometer.

I know how to make a 1.6.4 or higher pack but it's been so long since I tinkered with something older how do I rplace the broken nuke control mod then re-roll the pack? can anyone give step by step directions?
