  1. Mods loaded find, The base Minecraft client itself failed. Would you mind posting your OS, Java Version, and Launcher version?
  2. Does this occur whenever you boot up the game, or only when joining servers? Because there is a fairly visible download update timeout error, seems like it tried to download an update, failed, then tried to push through with the old version which proceeded to crash it all...
  3. I'd certainly hope they count, less everything I stand for be proved as having been in vain.
  4. Or, rather than poking holes in all this stuff, and disabling or forbidding stuff, just clearly state that the nether is to be ventured in at your own peril. Nether ores can be incredibly profitable, you just gotta have the gear to fight your way back out. Its no fun to say "This is dangerous, lets stop it", its more fun to say "This is dangerous, but there's treasures aplenty to be found"
  5. Keep in mind that mining the nether ores near pigmen will set them hostile as well.
  6. You are awoken by a skeleton!

  7. Tekkit Creators aren't the managers of the mods, they distribute the client that installs and downloads them for you. Secondly, a iPad wouldn't have near the power or memory needed to run a tekkit game. Not to mention that Minecraft portable isn't moddable. I could go on, but I believe my point was quite well covered in this post http://forums.technicpack.net/threads/tekkit-xbox-360.34067/
  8. Oh I can't see that going anything but swell... Takes Courage to play that game seriously....
  9. Turtles, Mining drill, and a Dense ore stacked world in Mystcraft (Yes, Decay turned off. Its SSP, I don't want to spend a billion years mining enough material, and I don't just wanna spawn it either) Looking into Quarries too...
  10. I had a similar issue running 32-bit Vista, I tried all the fixes and suggestions to get minecraft to adopt a higher allocated memory to no avail. I finally solved the issue by going to windows 7 64 bit. The Launcher and Java both seem to like 64 bit systems much better now, and my game runs with 3gb allocated. Unfortunately, it might just be best to bite the bullet and get a newer OS.... SP3 was launched back in 2008, and the core of the system all the way back in 2001.
  11. XD Well you guys got me tempted to renew the subscription to my Tekkit server. 'Twas just a little private assembly. Would need to clean up the nuclear disaster that is the entire map though... What should I draw next guys?
  12. This is how I envisioned that makeover going..... I honestly forgot what I was trying to achieve with that picture XD.
  13. It seems that most other people running Java 7 are having the exact same issue at the exact same point... See if you can use time machine to revert to before you did the update from 6 to 7. If not, see if you have the tech chops to run the fix from these posts http://technicpack.net/forums/threads/issues-with-java-version-on-mac-with-local-server-and-technic-launcher.19403/#post-233174 I'm no mac user, but there seems to be reports of success here...
  14. That file mismatch, /launcher/tekkit/modpack.yml failed to authenticate. Then it redownloaded the Minecraft mirror file from the looks of it... i might just try saving your world files and reinstalling the launcher. Looks like something got misplaced somewhere...
  15. Back when I ran a server, It was definately Capitalism to the extreme. More so in the realm of knowledge than anything. Everybody came to me for services, because I offered free ore refining. 1 ore, 1 ingot handed over. None of my friends knew what tekkit was, no did they care to play around, too busy rushing for diamonds, as I grazed off massive piles of ingots with my macerator. I bought all the uranium right off the bat because they didn't have any use for it, it wasn't diamonds. Eventually I ran powered systems everywhere, and by the time they figured out my ridiculous empire's strength, and the source of the power, They had given far too many resources over unwittingly to catch up. Then we started a nuclear war. Capitalism to the end.
  16. I'll take a look, but having each block with a different colour loops us back around to the "Unique Water blocks" Issue again. Maybe there's a way to commandeer the lighting engines smoothing system to make it less drastic though... Alot of effort for some glowing water here XD. Still, I'm no java programming, I'm just making educated guesses off of what I'm aware of, I wouldn't really know until I tried it myself now, would I?
  17. Well that mod was also likely done before the lighting engine rewrite, if your time stamp is accepted as fairly accurate. So we have declared particle effects as likely impractical due to lag, and unique water blocks unfeasible due to the usually tight confines of reactors. As for a new lighting engine? Even if such a core edit of minecraft's rendering engine where even possible, the system would essentially need to be able to handle ambient glows, or a simple bloom type effect, to make this look good. Such a system would make minecraft's current memory footprint look like an etch-a-sketch, since none of this could be baked in advance or otherwise optimized well enough.
  18. Well most people have reactor designs encased in just a few blocks of water, if any. Either the change would be so small as to be unnoticable, or so sharp and sudden that it would look much like the reactor was encased in a semi-transparent material. Still, I think this could be a cool idea, assuming we could find a way to make it look right. I'll refrain all "Its bad" or "its awesome" concepts until I was to see it in game.
  19. I had a similar issue as well, so on my new world, my goal was simple. "Don't rush technology". Rather than immediately scramble for generators and the like, I focused on what my Characters immediate issues where. Built a little wooden house, fur armor from hunting for food, and scavanged together a bed battling spiders with wooden swords. Found this floating black pillar? Made a temple around it with marble, which gave me incentive to dig. Mined, developed, ect. Now I'm onto an 18 building city, Stable wheat farm, And I'm just starting to develop powered lights and the like. Still need a starting goal? Hmm.... Build a Self Replicating anything. Bonus points if it is worked not by tubes and deployers, but Turtles.
  20. That would be difficult to pull, as waters colour is determined by the biome settings, so far as I'm aware. Even then, You'd need far too much water to create a casual enough effect without making it look like the reactor is just covered in ice.
  21. Sorry, I read ssp not working as in being unable to successfully launch a world. perhaps they are disabled in the config? I'd look myself but I'm at work for the moment.
  22. Do you have a crash log and the latest version of java? I ran ssp with no troubles the day the pack was launched.
  23. It wouldn't be to hard to create the particle effect. Creating it to behave like it would need to, would be difficult. Most particle effects seem too similar for the system to be flexible enough. I'm no modder either, keep in mind
  24. Don't forget extra costs for deploying patches and updated content. Xbox isn't that indie friendly XD.
  25. It may be possible using particle effects similar to fireworks to simulate the glow, but I'm not entirely certain they would render properly, and the lag to make enough semi transparent particles would bring systems to their knees
