  1. Basically, I'm just wondering if I should expect a new build to include the updated version of Industrialcraft before the official 1.3.2 update, or if I should just manually update my version of the mod.
  2. You can't open the level in MCedit normally because Tekkit stores level data a little differently than normal. Try navigating directly to the directory where the nether is stored and opening from there. There's a very good chance that your problems are simply that you spawned too high/too low.
  3. Sorting machines + paint brushes. The other alternative is to try to make every destination equidistant from the origin, which is a nightmare to design. EDIT: To clarify: Redpower always sends items to the nearest available destination. So it won't send to later destinations until the first fills up
  4. No, because we have no idea what the problem is. Is there something that this is supposed to be powering that isn't working? If not, then there's no reason for the power to be travelling into the rest of the pipes.
  5. Redpower is configured to only allow 1000 entities to be moved at once using frames. I don't know the specific underlying mechanics (i.e. does this mean 1000 blocks of space, or do frames+covers/panels count as more than 1 entity? Do players/mobs count towards this limit?) but this number can be changed in the redpower.cfg file. More likely, though, is that when you expanded the quarry, you have something that wasn't correctly picked up by the frame, and is blocking movement. Eloraam said she wanted to add "sparks" or a "grinding noise" when frames are blocked from moving, but that hasn't been implemented yet, so until that happens, it'll be a lot harder to debug frames. FYI, Frame Construction 101: Always, ALWAYS perform redundancy testing. Every time you add something, test everything that came before.
  6. If you use a Rotary Macerator and keep it spinning with a redstone signal, it'll grind ores faster than the redstone engine can send them to the machine. The only caveat is that you'll need two redstone engines on the output side to keep the output clear, or else it'll stop macerating whenever it changes inputs. Alternately, setup an Obsidian pipe to collect spills.
  7. This is supposed to be an admin/OP only item. You place an item in there, and then wire up either a Buildcraft pipe system, or else a Redpower pipe system, and when you "pull" items from the duplicator, it'll treat the placed item as though it is an infinitely large chest full of only that item, and will output that item. EDIT: to clarify, there *is* no crafting recipe. It cannot be legitimately obtained in a survival game.
  8. There isn't an especially notable lineup of medium *tier* machines. All you need to know is that it outputs 128 EU packets, and that any machine that can't accept packets that large will blow up if connected, meaning you'll need to learn how to use Transformers to downstep the packet size, or else to upgrade the allowable input size of the machines in question.
  9. Yeah, milk as an EMC source is kind of OP. What you should have done is just abuse the heck out of it and keep secret about it. But now you know too much. >_>
  10. Funny thing is, though, is that while it's a little more complicated understanding how things work in Redpower as opposed to Buildcraft, I've found that my pipe systems are almost universally cleaner and less complicated than they were with Buildcraft. One thing I'd advise, though: consider disabling block breakers. (Emphasis on the word "consider"; I'm not telling you to outright do it.) One big source of lag in Tekkit is from running lots of cobblestone generators to make scrap (or EMC, if you have Equivalent Exchange enabled, which I wouldn't) for furnaces/generators/Fabricators. Getting rid of this means killing a lot of functionality, but if lag is really a big problem, then you'll have to consider block breakers as one possible source for problems. (A few other blocks would qualify.)
  11. Spawn constantly stays loaded, the idea is, like removing world anchors, to stop having things constantly running. The specs of the server aren't *bad*, per se, but they aren't spectacular. It could very well be that the computer just isn't strong enough to handle the game. Also, check to make sure that you're allocating as much memory as you can.
  12. I would also reduce the rate at which the EE machines run using the EE.props file. I don't know exactly how the scaling factor works, so I would test a few values and see what results occur. Actually, the EE.props file can be used solely to disable unwanted items (I'd start with the transmutation table/condenser, and keep going from there), just open it up in a text editor and figure out how it's set up.
  13. Generally speaking, you have to place the pipes/wires *before* you place the hollow pieces. Also, it might be good to better describe exactly what you tried.
  14. The best method I've observed is to make some snowmen, strand them in one place, hook up some block breakers to harvest the snow, and send the snowballs to a compressor (Preferably a couple of singularity compressors). This is actually a lot slower than using an Energy Condenser, but if you don't want to use Equivalent Exchange then this is the way to go. Alternately, if you ARE using equivalent exchange, then Ice is only worth 1 EMC (well, it was in Tekkit 2.1, I haven't tested since then) so all you need is a few energy collectors.
