  1. It seems that FML isn't able to download files. First check to see if you can manually download This file that forge couldn't. If you can, delete the tekkit directory (backup your saves if you have any), disable your antivirus/firewall/peerblock/whatever and try installing tekkit again. Hopefully that fixes it. If not, you'll probably just have to manually download the files that forge chokes on.
  2. Yea, the first one: ForgeModLoader-client-0.log.
  3. I wondered that too, but I just assumed that pool was suppose to be the runoff from the area. As in the animals poop and the rain carries it down to a hole in the ground. Just speculation though.
  4. I could be wrong, but I believe sewage pools spawn naturally on world generation, however they don't form naturally afterwards. To get sewage from animals, you have to plop down a Sewage Collector.
  5. Did you press 'o'? It turns on/off NEI's GUI. If you don't know what NEI is, peruse http://thetekkit.wikia.com/wiki/Not_Enough_Items in your free time.
  6. you're* Sorry, I couldn't resist.
  7. See: http://forums.technicpack.net/threads/crash.44084/
  8. 1) Does your Vanilla client work fine while running 1.5.1, or for that matter other modpacks running 1.5.1? 2) Have you tried updating to the latest version of Tekkit? Either 1.0.5 or 1.0.6. 3) Have you tried updating your graphics card's drivers to their latest non-beta release? 4) There might be a FML log in Tekkit's main directory. If there is, post it. 5) Are you sure you have 64-bit Windows? And Jaso1111, the error message you received is COMPLETELY different from Winterburn's. You don't even have close to the same problem. I replied to your thread, but next time do a search for other people having the same error messages; the thread I linked you too was literally right next to yours in the 'Tekkit Bug Reports' thread list.
  9. The new tekkit 1.0.6 has the updated/fixed version of buildcraft. Update to that..
  10. I don't know about stone conductive pipes, but golden ones are suppose to be able to transport up to 10,000 MJ/t; so long as you don't have loops there should be no problem with overloading. As far as efficiency is concerned: golden pipes lose .5% per block whereas conduits lose a flat 5%, therefore it's safe to say that if your power has to travel <10 blocks conductive pipes are the way to go, but if your energy has to go >10 conduits are better (and if distance = 10 obviously it doesn't matter either way). Of course, all of this assumes that cost of materials is a nonfactor. As for the OP, you might try updating to 1.0.6, it has a number of BC3 fixes.
  11. You might try giving minecraft more memory to work with if you haven't already. Open the launcher and press the gear at the top right and select 1.5gb or 2gb from the memory drop down; mystcraft tends to use a lot of memory, especially in a decaying age.
  12. Is this just around your spawn area or everywhere? Pretty sure the default server settings have the spawn area unbuildable.
  13. Disable you antivirus/firewall and try again. That might not be the problem, but Tekkit sometimes gets hung up on that.
  14. or Tekkit: TNG
  15. Sewage: http://tekkitlite.wikia.com/wiki/Sewage Pump it into a composter and get industrial fertilizer.
  16. Also it seems that cows spawn a lot more frequently in swamps. I don't know if this is true, but it just seems that way to me.
  17. That would require permission from the mod developer/creator. Something the haven't given and probably never will.
  18. I haven't had too many issues finding cows, yes they aren't as common as sheep/pigs but a town typically nets you a stack or two of books. You might want to check out Rotten Flesh to Leather if you are sick of looking for cows: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1487712-146147-rotten-flesh-to-leather-fully-updated/
  19. Also the EnderStorage mod works quite well for liquids and items. http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/909223-147152-smp-chickenbones-mods/
  20. You're engines might be having trouble if your water source/pumps/pipes that are responsible for cooling the combustion engines are not in the same chunk as the engines themselves, or at least in a chunk that is being forced to load. The quarry forces some chunks loaded, chunks that probably have your engines in them, but if your water source is too far away you can definitely run into trouble. F9 will allow you to see chunks and which ones are forced to always be loaded. Also, it sounds like you're using lava to power your combustion engines, this is horribly inefficient, not to mention slow; see: http://ftbwiki.org/Combustion_Engine
  21. Nah, I usually just play SSP; also I kind of stopped playing BigDig and switched to Tekkit. Thanks for the offer though.
  22. Pretty sure that's an unstable rift from 'Dimensional Doors' just right click it with Rift Remover and it should go away. More info: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1650007-151universal-dimensional-doors-v134-im-sorrybut-i-dont-understand/ and http://tekkitlite.wikia.com/wiki/Rift Be careful though, I'm pretty sure if left unchecked they can do some serious damage (deleting blocks and such). Edit: One more thing, if you find a rift in a dimensional dungeon try to leave it alone. Not sure if they fixed this, but I used a rift remover while inside a dim. dungeon once and it crashed minecraft and I nearly lost my save.
  23. Probably a stupid question, but have you tried disabling your antivirus/firewall and then having the launcher download Big Dig?. Used to give me issues back when I used Comodo.
  24. Diamond spawn rate can be modified with 'AppDataRoaming.technicbigdigconfigMetallurgyMetallurgyCore.cfg' file. Just change diamond ore count and vein count to whatever you want, of course this only affects chunks that haven't been generated yet. As for coal, you're on your own as I'm not sure where it's spawn rate is configured at, though you might be able to add it to that file in the same way that redstone, iron, etc. is written. Just remember to make backups.
  25. Messing around in the MetallurgyBase.cfg file might help you out, at least in chunks that haven't been generated yet
