  1. As stated, an energy tesseract is what you need. The default energy cost to use is quite high (25%) - though I consider it fair - but can be changed in one of the cofh config files if you so feel inclined. Also, phased conductive pipes will transfer power, but those are currently not working. The line to change in the \config\cofh\ThermalExpansion.cfg file:
  2. This is definitely not true. I've used both of the tekkit-default chunk loaders - Chicken Chunks and Dimensional Anchors - and both have functioned 100% properly in SSP.
  3. You've got to be shitting me. You spent all that time writing this well organized post but you never bothered to even find out why RP2/IC2 weren't included, which has been posted at least a dozen times on these forums. And look into Applied Energistics if you need something better than pipes; AE makes RP2 look like the stone age. I really just want to call this is a troll thread.
  4. Sorry. Download 1.5.1_HD_D1, extract the contents (the unzipped folder), and copy the contents of that folder into a Tekkit-clean modpack.jar. If it asks you to overwrite anything, I believe that's fine, though I've never had to do that before. I've had success with this version, as have other people, but as you're using Mac if this doesn't work it might be an issue with that. And all mods in Tekkit are listed on the website.
  5. If/When Mystcraft gets updated will it be brought back, or is it out for good? And I'm excited about the update, I started playing tekkit mostly because of 1.5; now I can go back to BigDig.
  6. Optifine is not part of Tekkit. There are plenty of forum posts already on which versions work; use the search function to find them. And why would you assume that optifine is installed? If there is no evidence of it being installed, checking what mods are in Tekkit probably should have been your first step. That thread title bugs me from a logic point of view.
  7. This is a well known bug with 1.0.6. Conductive pipes don't function properly; your options are either get used to replacing them every time you start the server, or switch to redstone energy conduits.
  8. Copper or tin most likely. Possibly lead, silver, ferrous, or quartz. All of the ores are 925, the quarz is 745. I can't think of any other naturally occurring overworld blocks with an id above 256, with the exception of a few that appear in towns.
  9. Woah, I kind of assumed BigDig would be stuck in RP2-IC2 limbo forever. I did think that maybe BigDig would fork an update, with dropped support for those two mods, but I figured it would never happen. Can I assume that's what's happening? If so, I can see a lot of people updating blindly and coming here to bitch; definitely can't say I envy your holiday plans.
  10. I don't think there's a way to simply clear the pipes while leaving them intact, even if you do switch back and forth with an id from another block; you're probably going to have to do this the painful way.
  11. Yea, I was gonna recommend this. Oil can be placed from a bucket in the Nether and acts exactly like water does in that it turns lava into obsidian/cobblestone on contact. You might have to dink around with it a bit, but it should function the same as pouring water in a quarry in the overworld to get rid of lava.
  12. What are YOU doing this Monday?
  13. Assuming you're using Windows 7/8, the bigdig directory should be at 'C:\Users\Specter\AppData\Roaming\.technic\bigdig'. Copy the 'saves' folder to your desktop, delete the 'config' folder, open the Technic launcher and click the little gear under the BigDig logo, make sure 1.2.2 is selected (pushing the button for manually selecting the pack if necessary), click 'Reset Pack' and then click 'Save'. Next time you launch bigdig, it should revert back to 1.2.2. Meddling around in the bigdig directory is honestly probably unnecessary, but it doesn't hurt.
  14. It might be a good idea to actually post the crash report, rather than just typing the words 'Crash report'.
  15. There's just something cozy about being behind a wall of obsidian; also obsidian is basically free with EE3.
  16. Backup your saves and wipe the /bigdig directory, and then run the launcher again. 1.3 isn't even acknowledged on the Technic website so I wouldn't try that build just yet.
  17. A lot of people have reported that. I haven't made it up to space yet, but from my understanding the oxygen system can a bit touchy; I believe you need an oxygen sealer, an oxygen collector, some tree leaves, and an oxygen bubble distributor in order for the system to work.
  18. I'm not aware of any way to get a new Nether. You'll either have to make due with a shitty situation (aka. bring obsidian and build a nice little indestructible platform/fort) or you'll have to move a fairly significant distance away from your current portal and try again; the way that nether portals work is well documented in the MC Wiki. I guess a third way would be to delete your Dim-1 folder (obviously not while you're in the nether) and create a second nether portal in the overworld at a different location than the first. It wouldn't have to be far from the first, just enough to move your portal spawn to a safer location (remember the 8:1 correlation between the two dimensions). I'm fairly certain that the Nether takes the seed from the overworld, so simply deleting the folder won't give you a different Nether.
  19. If no one else posts a better solution, you might just have to change the pipe block id (517) to something else and load your world. It shouldn't kick you back to desktop (assuming the new id wasn't already occupied) and it should let you have your save back, but the downside is it'll delete all of the pipes in your world. As for the items in the pipes, I don't know what'll happen to them.
  20. It's a water spring from BuildCraft. I've found one too at the bottom of a shaft filled with water, but they seem to be slightly useless. They provide an infinite source of water, but it's not like infinite water is a particularly unique phenomenon in the Minecraft world. Edit: Block id 521 if you were curious.
  21. If I had a nickel for every time this topic gets posted, I'd have, like, 5 bucks. Conductive pipes are fubar until further notice, you'd be better off with redstone energy conduits. Buildcraft bugs notwithstanding, maybe post a picture of your setup; in case this is a configuration issue.
  22. Assuming you're using Windows 7, the default directory for the tekkit config(uration) files is "C:\Users\VrTech\AppData\Roaming\.technic\tekkitmain\config"; everything in this file gets deleted. To reset the pack, open the technic launcher, click the little gear under the Tekkit logo, click 'Reset Pack', then click 'Save'. Launch Tekkit as normal and it should redownload everything, including the correct config files. If this doesn't fix it, you might try disabling your antivirus program and repeating the steps above.
  23. Just steam, though both will break if they don't have anything to output power to. Just whack it with your wrench to fix. No need to rely on the internet, just experiment in creative mode.
  24. I despise when people don't say how they fixed their problem.
  25. There should be an error log in the mod's main directory, titled something like ForgeModLoader-client-0.log. Post that. First you might try disabling your AV/firewall, deleting your .technic folder (backing up saves of course), and running the launcher again.
