  1. I don't doubt you, I used to have Comodo installed too but I got sick of it blocking my programs. It was annoying, yet tolerable, when it would pop-up a notification every time I ran a new program, but when it started to not even bother asking I dumped it in favor of avast! - though I still keep the Comodo firewall installed for good measure.
  2. Thaumcraft isn't in the new Tekkit; list of mods.
  3. Yep. I prefer them to tesseracts too, but nobody else seems to.
  4. I haven't tried 1.5.1_L_B1, but myself and several others have had success with 1.5.1_HD_D1. Maybe try that and see if it works.
  5. I haven't seen anything about this on Metallurgy's MCF thread, but from my experience the ore is generated a set number of times (or within a set range) randomly throughout a chunk with no regard for altitude nor vanilla distribution. The exception is of course, the altitude must be below what the config is set at (96 by default) and the ore must generate where there is already stone.
  6. Navigate to 'AppData.technictekkitmainconfigimmibis-microblocks.cfg' and find the line that reads Just change the false to true, save and exit.
  7. IC2 Edit: Just kidding, derped all over the place. The coins come from Metallurgy2: Precious Metals mod. You have to craft them in a mint, but for what they do? I guess in a SMP environment they would allow for a more dynamic economy. I think, but could be wrong, that villagers also have a chance of trading stuff for coins. The M2 MCF thread. Edit 2: I had never messed around with the mint before so I spent the last couple of minutes trying different ingots to see which ones could be pressed. The ones I had success with were: Silver (15307), Gold (266), Platinum (15357), Brass (15407), Hepatizon (14457), Electrum (15457), and Angmallen (14557). I tried most of the ingots in the game, but of course I could have missed a few. As for how how many coins each ingot nets you, I leave that up to somebody else; the wiki has some numbers but I don't know how accurate they are.
  8. Disable your antivirus and try again; generally just right click the AV icon in the notification area and fumble around until you see an option to disable. If that doesn't work, try running the launcher as an admin (Right Click -> Run As Administrator).
  9. Never. That would require RP2, IC2, and the other handful of 1.4.X mods to get updated to 1.5.X. RP2 and IC2 are taking their sweet time to update, to the point that it's unlikely that they ever will, but a shit storm would rain down on these forums if either of them were removed, so much so that I doubt CanVox - or whoever is currently maintaining this pack - would want to put up with it. Alternatively BigDig could fork, with a version that drops outdated mods in favor of trying to stay relatively up-to-date with Minecraft, but I don't know if that would ever happen. It's really simple, just open up the config file (for example 'AppliedEnergistics.cfg') and look for a line that says something along the lines of and change from true to false. You shouldn't get any more nag from AE after that; just rinse and repeat.
  10. Those stone columns represent unstable doorways that are only one-time uses. I think, but I'm not sure, if you plop down a Dimensional Door where there is now a rift cloud that it should take you to the same pocket dimension as the unstable door did. ninja'd
  11. Make sure java, both client and server side, is up to date, does more than you may think. Also I've seen where people were experiencing lag in 1.0.5, but not in 1.0.6. So like Feekkee suggested, update Tekkit too. Again, both client and server.
  12. Combustion engines run a lot longer than that I believe; one bucket of fuel should net you 600,000 MJ at 6 MJ/t. A total of 83.333 minutes of power. Edit: Given Euphoreich's numbers, a biofuel generator will only give you 8.333 minutes of power - albeit at a much higher MJ/s rate.
  13. Die while in a dimensional door and you'll end up in Limbo. Never been there myself as I almost exclusively play on hardcore, and as a result I usually try to avoid rifts and the inevitable TNT traps therein.
  14. Endertanks work wonders too.
  15. Yea I had this happen too, I just didn't realize that it generated after I had been to the nether. I figured I had just flown by oblivious.
  16. Pronouns were invented for a reason. But yea, log in once and after that you should be able to play in Offline Mode.
  17. Even using a stirling, your quarry would take like 6 years to hit bedrock. Also, I don't think you can daisy-chain redstone engines anymore, nor can you connect them to conductive pipes.
  18. I wish they would implement a =86']search function in this website.
  19. I always thought so too back when the macerator was around, but it is damn convenient. Did you ever think about using the sawmill instead of the pulverizer? Still dumb but at least logically feasible.
  20. Balkin's WeaponMod should be manually updated to 1.11.2, the current version doesn't actually use any ammo when firing any of the mod's ranged weapons (cannon possibly excluded).
  21. If only forums would start allowing people to search the entire website at the click of a button: 1) 2) 3) 4) 5)
  22. It's probably the explosion from unstable Nether Ores. Sounds a bit like TNT/Creeper, and they have a chance of exploding if: 1) you start to mine them, 2) you step on them, or 3) they are exposed to oxygen (i.e. you mine the block on top of, or next to, them), fire or explosions.
  23. I just discovered this, but there's an option in the ThermalExpansion.cfg under the 'Tweak' section that reads Change that 'false' to 'true' and you should be able to pulverize wool into string in a 1:1 conversion.
  24. I didn't know that, thanks for the info.
  25. Don't forget that two wood can be transmuted into an obsidian with a minium stone. Go to a jungle biome and get as much obsidian as you'll ever need.
