My friend has set up a Voltz server and it's been generally fine, however, we're having a problem. I lag. Alot. My entire internet shits itself when I connect and I get extreme latency at all times. This only happens on Voltz servers for me. He's tried running the server through a forwarded port and through Hamachi with no improvement for me. I am the ONLY player on the server who lags consistently. He's also run a vanilla minecraft server which I had no lag for whatsoever. This is the first time I've used the Technic Launcher in a long time, and I haven't checked other modpacks, so it's very possible that it is a launcher issue. Another friend tried making a server. I lagged just as bad. I tried making my own server, I lagged and so did everyone else on the server. I don't lag with regular minecraft and I've never lagged with manually-modded minecraft before. Is there any ideas you guys know of that could make this pack playable in multiplayer for me?

Username: DoodTheDud Age: 22 How long have you been playing Minecraft?: Since Beta 1.7 Do you know much about Voltz?: Nope. Why do you want to play on this server?: So me and a friend or two can figure the mod out without pvp. What do you like doing in Minecraft/Voltz: Building stuffs. -
Problem was fixed by my server host. Not sure what the solution was, but apparently it wasn't that difficult for them. It involved some incorrect files, apparently. Sorry I can't be of more help to others with this problem.

These errors popped up when I did try to connect. Sorry for the confusion.

Enderchests being introduced in new MC snapshot

Not all multiplayer servers are comprised of people who steal stuff and don't trust each other. Sure it's not ideal for a big server or a public server, but for a server like the one I run, we're a small group of friends and that is very very handy. -
This. Your hormones will cause you horrible horrible pain and sorrow in High School. Infatuation is an emotional attachment, and feels nice and pure, but it doesn't last, ever. You should wait until something more than JUST emotions drives you (not to say emotions aren't a big part, just that we have minds as well for a reason).

Actually, sharing an inventory is very handy for community resources or quick trading in multiplayer. I like that alot. Also one person mining while the other sorts it. Also for Nether expeditions. It may be inferior to the Ender chests mod, but it's still a handy thing to have. -

Typically the goal is to make someone feel unique and proud of their "race" without making people feel obligated to play a certain race. THerefore, the racial bonuses should be small and convenience-oriented. Something like "getting double-blocks" is really overpowered if it's all the time, for example. Having durability on picks go down slower or having materials repair very slightly more for a certain race are both neat bonuses that are handy but not super-powerful.

Spell name - "Distraction" Spell class - Ranger Spell type - Projectile Spell desc - Makes noise and puts the shooter's name at the location the arrow lands. Also taunts nearby mobs to that location. Spell name - "Fire Arrow" Spell class - Ranger Spell type - Projectile Spell desc = Sets the target on fire when it lands. Creates fire where the arrow lands if it does not hit an entity.

http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/581461-125-decoratives-mod-true-aesthetics/ this guy has some cool stuff, might find inspiration there. Wish he made it for SMP.

No need to insult dogs. Dogs can recognize when they did something wrong from the punishment. This person still seems to think he was in the right.

Better than Wolves- Mod pack in the launcher
DoodTheDud replied to darlekcef's question in Technic Launcher
godamnit, I was gonna say something like this. :( -
Cheap Shot, you should know that the second you see anything even slightly relevant to what you're asking, you immediately stop and don't consider any further options. This board said "Tekkit" and thus all options afterwards are void. Moving your eyes any further downward is an inefficient waste of time and energy.
-
Damnit, even MORE people are gonna think Technic is a place to get food now. Geez. Something about free chicken that has some terrible sauce or something. And stuff.
-
Regardless of compatibility, Tekkit is still aimed at SMP play, while Technic is still not.

But but but, Alienware is all GLOWY AND SHINY!

Similar, the GUI is nice, but that one is automated. I'd prefer ones where you can get a player, or multiple players, shooting turrets that they aim themselves.

Server "overload" when players enter a certain area
DoodTheDud replied to absence1k's question in Tekkit Classic
From my experience with many people on my server's last world using ridiculous EE/buildcraft setups, or cooling systems that used redpower tubing, no amount of items moving around in pipes or tubes seems to ever cause lag. The SECOND one of those pipes breaks and those items start spilling out on the ground, however..... I don't believe items in pipes are treated as entities. I'm unfamiliar with how it works, but my remove drops command has never killed things in pipes. -
