  1. Advanced machines should only very slowly draw power to stay up to speed/heat/pressure, and use power more quickly when actually doing work. It's also possible they don't draw any power at all after they're up to speed (they have internal power storage, so that's what you saw with the little lightning bolt - they will do work after you shut off the external power, consuming that storage). Those same advanced machines need a redstone signal to activate, and work best (or at all, though that may be a Tekkit bug) with low voltage, unless they're doing a lot (stack upon stack, fed by redstone engines) of work.
  2. Wind generators can be faster, if built right, and you're lucky. Solar panels are very consistent, but they don't generate when it's raining or during the night. Neither is capable of producing large amount of power without compact solars, which are ludicrously expensive.
  3. This...is a perfect bug report, on your first post. Cheers! A little more information will be helpful, though. Is this your server you're playing on (or are you playing single player)? If so, do you have a server log? If not, are there are circumstances that could be causing your issues? The MD5 mismatch you're seeing is a security negotiation key between your computer and minecraft.net, and rebooting your computer, after which you wait 5 minutes or so to reconnect, should hopefully solve that part of the problem. If that error still shows up, try searching for *.md5 and deleting all of them (related to Minecraft), which will force a new negotiation.
  4. You could try updating RedPower, if you don't have the latest version. Otherwise, I suspect this is inherent to the mod pack and will just need to be troubleshot while they're finishing the development cycle.
  5. Please: 1) Fix the table by putting width=800 inside your first img tag. 2) Read the stickies at least a little to discover that your error is already mentioned in the title of one of them. 3) Follow the bug report format for future errors.
  6. There are automatically created mod files that don't seem to serve a purpose other than checksums (I assume ModLoader or whatever it's called has something to do with this), and then there are the important ones. Where are these you mention located, your server folder structure or your .techniclauncher\tekkit folder? If the former, there are other config files to worry about, and some of these will populate when you run the server. If the latter, don't worry about them.
  7. You, ummm, did everything wrong with this post. You broke the table (see how I fixed my image width?), failed at bug reporting, posted in the wrong section, and didn't read the stickies! And look how helpful people here are - you got a solution anyway. Spectacular.
  8. You do realize you're speaking to the Technic artist and one of the site admins, right? They're tired and frustrated of people telling them they're doing things wrong when clearly they aren't, based on the popularity of the pack and these forums. You just need to learn to lighten up. In particular, Cheap Shot's brand of humor may be...a little childish at times. Deal with it. How about a combination? They don't want worship, they want to be involved in a community that both respects them and each other, and is willing to play around a bit. Stupidity, lack of a sense of humor, and malevolence need not apply.
  9. Learn to use the bug report format, when you get back from the vacation I see you're on, and we'll talk.
  10. 1) Is there a question somewhere in there? If there is, I can't find it. 2) I think this is a more relevant question for the MCEdit creator/maintainer, as it doesn't really apply to the Technic Pack in particular.
  11. I am not. I would burn more easily if that were the case. If you're going with the newer definition, I assure you my wife knows this is not true. Ever stopped to read all the requests for help on this forum that provide no useful information whatsoever, then try to help? No, because you can't. Yet, you start name-calling when I tell it like it is. Nice of you.
  12. This is a good example of how not to post a bug report. Also, learn to use the search bar.
  13. You need the RailCraft wiki. RailCraft using a rolling machine for nearly all basic rails and a bunch of other items, and has a special furnace for some things.
  14. I would have just backed up your saves, personally. The world files are in the server folder structure.
  15. It's more like what you didn't do, which is read the stickies. Also, somebody's code broke the table, probably AlienX's. Then people quoting the code broke them some more. Please don't break the table.
  16. I'd bet it's an Internal Server Error. Without more info, though, I can't be sure.
  17. It's pretty easy to reproduce. Open the RM furnace GUI. Place an item or stack in the lower-right corner of your inventory. Shift-click on it. Voila!
  18. Server logs and screenshots of your launcher screen (and anybody else's who's trying to connect) would help too, since a Tekkit 3.0.3 install should work fine with a 3.0.4 server.
  19. Clearly they weren't disabled. Also, there's a rather large dupe bug right now involving the red matter furnace that hasn't been addressed yet, and it wouldn't surprise me even slightly if there were others.
  20. @sigma: Settle down. Reread your original post and see if you can figure out how it might have been taken the wrong way by any female who might have been thinking of playing on your server or on another server with you. Then edit it if you wish (although it may be too late). This thread is comedic in nature, after the first page anyway. This is especially true with your angry, rambling responses. @Yuriy: No. She's mine. I just wish she would get the building bug every once in a while.
  21. 1) Don't say "Latest one." Which specific one, dev. or rec. build? 2) Which bit version of (ewww) Vista? 3) Which bit version of Java? (Clearly this is working, but you may want to update to the same bit version of Java 7.) 4) Your antivirus is known to cause problems. I recommend a different one, like Avast or MSE. 5) Your modpack.jar is missing or corrupted. Save your world and waypoints if you want, and delete the technicssp folder. Allow the launcher to reinstall it.
  22. It should be... MFSU -> glass fiber or HV cable (optional) -> MV trans (NOT RS) -> gold or better cable (optional) -> LV trans (also NOT RS) -> copper or better cable (optional) -> machines. If you replace any of those components with anything else, more than likely the components will melt/explode. Also, as gotyaoi said, if you don't have machines or anything else drawing power, power doesn't flow. Obviously, you want to insulate the cable to reduce EU losses, and of course your 3-dot transformer sides should face the higher-end cable/MFSU/transformer.
  23. 1) Click the "Open Level" button inside MCEdit. 2) Browse to the location you want. 3) ???? 4) Edit!
  24. Care to give us the information we actually need to help, like...say...the bug report format with the associated info? Assuming Minecraft works on those 5 computers...something's wrong with your version of Java or Java path, your install location, your config files, port forwarding or VPN access, or any number of other things. Try to provide the information that's useful instead of a random section of error code that means nothing.
