  1. I'm going to Hazzard a guess. The phone software is linked to a particular connection or program type (Java, maybe?), so it opens whenever that program type runs. There aren't too many other non-browser-based programs or games that use Java, for fairly obvious reasons. My Zune software opens whenever I plug my phone into my computer, so it's conceivable that such a program link could be created. I recommend reviewing your phone software's configuration files for auto-open or auto-run options. It's either that, or just remove Nokia Suite. Or snarks, or grumkins. Those are definitely on the table.
  2. I thought this topic looked familiar...thanks for posting a bug report! Now, as to your problem: It looks to me as though, between Lockette and WorldGuard, a quarry somewhere on the server ran into a wall of Don't Touch That Block Or I Will Kill You. You could use MCEdit to remove the offending quarry, and it might fix the problem. I also suggest adding to the ops file a user called "[buildcraft]" (no quotes) and seeing what it does. I'm not sure how mods, plugins, and permissions conflict, though, as I've never set up a server with any. You may need more expert help.
  3. Well, crap, he was. I kind of assumed that couldn't happen based on his posting history, but it turns out it was for thread hijacking. I'm guessing it will be (or was) short. On topic, yes, Technic/Tekkit/Yogbox/HSM/Voxel uses "real" Minecraft. Any requests for anything to do with "fake" Minecraft on these boards have been dealt with...expeditiously.
  4. I'd post from whatever type of residence you have. If it's a manor, I suspect you may have inherited a lot of money. You should send some to me.
  5. I have had similar issues with tablets where a full klein omega would show nothing to be transmuted. This is on localhost, so I know it wasn't a connection or lag issue. 75%+ of the time, removing the star from the tablet and re-inserting it fixed the problem. The rest of the time (no exceptions so far), restarting the MC client fixed it. Just make sure to remove the klein from the table first, as they tend to disappear when the client and/or server get restarted.
  6. The server freezes, or your client freezes? I'm going to guess item spillage. You can either mass-delete entities using MCEdit on the server world, or you can try "remove items -1" on the console. Other that that, better people may be able to help. Try a good bug report next time, though.
  7. Oops. I think people are trying to tell you, by way of declining to answer your request, that they don't have enough information to do so. How, specifically, aren't they working, in other words? Do you have a setup (pictures may be helpful)? Are you providing power to them? No one who might try to help you knows whether you are competent or not, so you may have to prove it.
  8. For a half a second there, I wasn't paying attention, and I was wondering why CheapShot would be asking about real Minecraft. On a somewhat unrelated note, I'm assuming your Probated avatar is, in fact, faked. :)
  9. So you're still running Java 6? Try 7. Also make sure you're running the correct bit version (32 or 64) of Java to match your OS (since you didn't say which one that was). Next, set the Java path so Windows can find it if you're not using it in the shortcut. Find the path in Control Panel > Java > Java tab > Path. It's usually C:\Program Files\Java\jre7\bin - it's probably jre6 for you. Then go to Control Panel > System > Advanced System Settings > Advanced tab > Environment Variables... button > scroll down to find Path > add the full path including the bin directory to the variable definition, using a semicolon as a separator. The above will not necessarily fix your problem, but it may.
  10. 1. Sword of the Stars, Master of Orion II SotS is pretty much the ultimate space 4X that doesn't require extremely heavy micro to get into. It's a turn-based strategy game with real-time combat. I haven't started playing 2 yet because it was borked at launch but seems to have come a very long way since then, so I'll probably start soon. Master of Orion II (III is horrendous, sadly) is still playable, but needs someone to cooperate or compete against. The AIs are boring. Off topic a bit, the Kerberos Productions forums are comparable to these. The moderators are a bit more loose, but the forums are also a bit busier than here, and unlike here, the forumgoers are usually paying customers. They're not afraid to tell someone they're being dumb, though. 2. Earth 2150/Lost Souls/Moon Project (same series), Earth 2160 These are real-time strategy games that follow the typical pattern but allow some customization of vehicles/aircraft/buildings/etc through research. It's nice to have options. 3. Warlords Battlecry II/III These are essentially the same game. Unfortunately, unit pathing, glitchiness, and the use of low-quality sprites makes them hard to enjoy after a while, but they're still fun to fire up now and then. They're basically combination RTS/simple RPG's where you control a hero that gains levels, spells, abilities, and equipment between games. 4. Kohan (and, to a much lesser extent, Kohan II) It's always the spectacular games that get left in the bargain bin. Kohan and the stand-alone expansion Ahriman's Gift are some of the most original and fun strategy games I know. The 2nd game loses some of it's openness (and therefore fun) while getting better graphics. They're medieval/fantasy RTS games with cities, adding the concepts of squads (companies) instead of single units. Morale, supply, maintenance/upkeep, and city/company control zones were all somewhat unique ideas at the time. I'd still play this if I could find anyone who also does, because again the AI is only so much of a challenge after a while. I know I went over three, but they all deserve mention.
  11. This would be easier than building a Rube Goldberg machine on top of Mt. Everest. I bet he didn't try that either.
  12. You'll most likely have to remove your tekkit folder and re-download then. You updated, and something's not reverting to 1.1 correctly.
  13. I can safely say, speaking from personal experience even, that the moderators here do not "troll." They moderate. If you post like an idiot or as someone who can't read, they'll probably tell you that, and they may even give you a time out to think about posting better in the future. If you post in an intelligent manner that demonstrates that you can, in fact, read, they leave you alone. Sometimes they even contribute to the conversation. :)
  14. If you're using EE, get a Mercurial eye, load it with C using a klein star (any size, pretty much, though bigger will last longer) and a piece of dirt/cobble/smoothstone/whatever, and charge it up all the way with V. G will change modes, switch to Creation and start jump-clicking below you (if you have no lag) or clicking up on a wall at height 5. It creates a 9x9 square of whatever is in the GUI, centered on the block you click. Filling up a regular quarry with this method should be trivial. Filling the larger ones will just take a little longer. If the quarry holes don't appeal to you and you don't feel like filling them, use IC2's miners and have them backfill, or just go mining yourself.

    Stone problems

Cruel. You shouldn't tease the clueless. Also, hilarious.
  16. Extractor is correct. However, also put the snowball back in the compressor for a surprise!
  17. There is no Tekkit server version for MC 1.2.5, so you'd be playing by yourself, at which point...you might as well play Technic, unless you're just testing stuff.
  18. Aaaanddd...here's the point I stop helping. You clearly can't read. Alternatively, you don't have the slightest clue how to use a forum. Either way...
  19. This strikes me as being more or less effective than wrapping a cougar around your head while whistling Dixie.
  20. Post a bug report. With the right format. In the bug report section. You're likely (but still not guaranteed) to get more/better responses that way.
  21. It looks like a Quarry has broken your server. I'm not an expert, though, so I'd suggest expert help. :)
  22. That would be in: [serverfolder]\[worldname]\data, with the file names being "tablet_[playername].dat" Wasn't terribly hard to find...for future reference.
  23. That's NEI, a separate mod. So, nope. If you'd like help with specific items, visiting the available wiki for the mod that contains those items, or asking in here or on local mod sites, is the best way to familiarize yourself with the mod pack. There are getting started guides for at least IndustrialCraft and Equivalent Exchange on the forums here or the mod wikis.
  24. This should be less confusing: http://www.technicpack.net/a-note-on-forestry/
  25. No arguments here. I just started a new map to try out 7.0.1, and my base consists of a 4x5 box, 3 high, with a door. I go minimalist at the beginning. In there is a generator, 2 macerators, an electric furnace, an extractor, 2 alchemical chests, 6 regular furnaces for bulk processing, a bed, a crafting table, a ladder heading down to bedrock, and a couple of torches. Others I know couldn't stand being so cramped. But this game will always be fun because there will always be More To Do.
