  1. No, that's good. We can just keep piling on this thread, and if/when he reads it, comes back and responds to it, his reaction will most likely determine whether the probation will be extended to a permanent ban.
  2. Why would you resurrect a week-and-a-half-old thread to post that?
  3. Darn, I was reporting at the same time you were posting this. It's a good question, and deserves a better answer than that. AgentChase: You can find stickies in any pad of PostIt Notes™ or other marking tabs, sold at any office supply store.
  4. I quoted the entire post because it was so self-centered, but the relevant bits are in bold (mine). Someone else is insulting your intelligence? So, I went to the thread you helpfully used as an illustration. Then I looked, briefly, down through the thread, and noticed a few key details. 1) This map has more than 30 biomes. Wow, that's a lot. It all depends on how big the biomes are, but we'll just say it would take a while even for someone familiar with MCEdit, VoxelSniper, or whatever else to even make one large biome. So, it's a good-sized map. 2) It's 2000x3000 blocks. That's good-sized, enough for several people to comfortably coexist on, but not so big that you're going to be able to hide from each other. 3) It took more than 150 hours to make. In other words, working 4 hours a day, every day, more than a month of someone's time went into this map. So, what you're asking for is a good-sized project. Right, so we're lazy because we won't make or find a map for you. So, back to the last bold point above. :)

  6. You have an...interesting version of Windows 7.
  7. Re: Notch has an..................interesting sense of humor That's...really fast. This thread isn't growing that fast, unless the time constant is in something other than seconds.
  8. Ah, but was it custom? These...don't really exist. You could make one. Then share with the community!
  9. In all seriousness, if anyone else sees this error: this is a world-corruption issue, much like any error that says, "file not in GZIP format." If you don't have a world backup or can't get Win7 to restore at least the corrupt part (it's pretty much up to you to figure out what that is), you're hosed.
  10. You're almost there. Do you have an error log? Also, the Hamachi IP won't do you any good on the same computer, or at least it didn't last I checked. This isn't a memory problem - it seems like a configuration issue, on either client or server end.
  11. They can read the forums, but the forums don't record what they're reading because they're not logged in. It makes for an interesting return if you're used to keeping up with everything, so if I were probated for being dumb at some point (not impossible), I'd just stop reading for a few days and catch up later.
  12. You need to distinguish better between "can," "cant" (which is a word but means nothing like can't), and "can't" or people won't be able to understand you. Also, try making your request a little more detailed.
  13. You have failed a basic ReadTheStickies test.
  14. Fine. Possible, with all the conditions you said. I'd like to see the heat sink for that. Also, I'm not going anywhere near Jay?'s NSFW anything. :)
  15. Hold, yes, but the sticks don't exist yet (that I know of), so my statement stands.
  16. I think it's funny how you answered all my questions except the first one. Try running the server on Java 7 and the client on Java 6. It has been shown to have working results for other people.
  17. Weird. Maybe it's because I got an OEM license for mine, or maybe my memory's just faulty. In my defense, it was almost a year ago. Either way...7zip is the way to go. It's just better, and free never hurt.
  18. The first time, it'd be hilarious. "Looks like they phase-shifted on that last voyage!" Then you'd realize that it's going to be impossible to find them fast enough to actually benefit from looting them, since pirates don't make any noise to track. I guess you could use the entity radar below where you think there'd be a shoreline, but that's just messy...
  19. That pastebin log has you throwing an io exception where Java can't find the modloader.cfg file. He'll need that. I agree with the above. ^ Also...all the mods it shows him loading from Technic (in the log you posted)? It means he's probably trying to use TechnicSSP to connect to your Tekkit server. That probably won't work very well either. I suspect you sent the wrong log file, but...I don't know at this point. _0 should have been the most recent one. Try posting that, and maybe _1 to see if we can figure out the problem.
  20. I wouldn't be concerned about deleting Java 6. Java 7 provides a replacement in nearly every case, and...you can always re-download it in the unlikely case that you find something that won't run on 7.
  21. Add the Java 7 bin directory to your Path system variable. Link I'm pretty sure your batch file is messed up, though, if it's still trying to run the server from C:\Windows\System32 - you don't really want it to do that anyway, as that's where it will put all your server files.
  22. I was picking on the 1100-1500gb, which would be (rounded) 1.1 to 1.5 TB of RAM. Needless to say, those don't exist.
  23. Water mills are very reliable. Their power output is just crap. A good nuke reactor setup is fairly close to zero-maintenance, as long as you put in the safeguards, and maybe run a breeder in the background. Also, without compact solars, you're going to kill a low-end computer with the generator tick lag. Also, you can build HV solars without a fabrication facility - Project Tables are awesome (I don't use that word lightly).
  24. Hey! Okay. Okay. Yes. No. Not surprising. Don't sign your posts. :)
  25. I would start the server with 2GB and see what happens. It depends a lot on what people are doing, mostly with the machines, not just with how many people you have. Bump it to 3 or maybe 4 if you start seeing "Server can't keep up" messages. Otherwise, you should be able to handle 4 or 5 people without too much problem, especially on a LAN.
